On this occasion, the newspaper EL IMPULSO, after 114 years of existence due to lack of raw materials, obliged the company to indefinitely suspend the print edition.
According to the press release that I received, they indicate that once again, the Alfredo Maneiro Corporation, the only entity authorized to provide supplies for print media by the Government of Nicolás Maduro, has left them waiting.
The editorial emphasizes that they do not escape from the calamity that Venezuela is experiencing politically, socially and economically. Therefore, the company thanks readers, distributors, advertisers and friends for their solidarity in such difficult circumstances.
It annoys me not only to read that they put out another voice for the citizenship, but also, as a result of this decision, many employees who have supported this company for so many years and who today go home thinking how They will do to take the food or meet your needs.
In addition, it is an impact with incalculable consequences to the freedom of expression and the press, because THE IMPULSE, is considered a reference icon in modern journalism and social struggles.
At least the publishers keep in mind that they will continue to fight from any space to be able to keep people informed of the daily events.
They will continue to defend the truth, as it should be.
I hope to read soon that they went back to the printing press and that the readers are already having their morning coffee in the company of the newspaper.
Soon we will have our Venezuela free and democratic.
Greetings.
