Ahoy-hoy, steemians.
So this is my introductory post; and already it's making me feel like it's the first day of a new school and the teacher makes you all sit in a circle, then stand up one by one and "tell us something interesting about you". Suddenly your mind goes blank and all you can think of is "I once found a crisp (potato chip) shaped like Moldova" and "don't tell anyone you love ballroom dancing"; so I'm a bit nervous about exposing the soft underbelly of my personal tastes and projects unto the terrifying world of the internet. A seedy world of plot holes and spelling errors...
Anyhoo... my husband @costopher has been steeming since May and has really been enjoying it, and suggested that I get in on the action, which I promptly did... after my laptop died, and I had to wait to get a new one, and take some pictures to get ready to write about, and have to time to sit down and write a post, and stop procrastinating.
If you look at Cos's posts you'll see that he is interested in gardening, building greenhouses, brewing beer, and making things from scratch. I also like a spot of gardening and outdoor pursuits; but my main area of interest is renovating our house. We bought a 1970s build 3 (2.5) bed house in October 2015 and since then have been putting a lot of time/ effort/ money/ blood/ sweat/ tears into doing it up.
The house had previously been a rented property; although before we moved in it had been empty for some time. In the great tradition of landlords the world over, their ethos had been "If it ain't broke, don't fix it... or update it... or pay a professional to do a proper job... or bother to strip off the wallpaper before tiling the walls..., or get rid of the stash of vintage porn in the attic". Suffice to say: every room needs decorating. In the case of the bathroom this extended to some minor re-plumbing work. So far we've made some good progress, but we still have a long way to go. This blog will chart the changes we make, and hopefully be a useful source of inspiration/ information for anyone else working on similar projects.
While that's a the main focus of this blog, I'll also write about the various craft, cooking, baking, and furniture projects that I undertake. And the occasional photo of a micro pig in rain boots.
That's a preview of the bathroom, mid-renovation.
