Hey Steemit! As a small introduction of myself, I am an engineer in the making who loves to Learn, Explore and Experiment. Yeah, for anyone who finds me under the sun, That is who I am. I didn’t really want to have the conventional introduction as I have a tough time trying to explain myself to others, so I what have done instead is written down a very recent yet significant thought of mine, because I believe, if you know how a man thinks, you really do know the man.You think so? Let’s find out.
WHO AM I ?
I have been through a few things lately that have changed my perspective of knowledge and the learning process. I lost a loved one to an engineering failure, a system created by engineers, reputed ones, the ones we all trust. The gravity of the situation required me, as a student of engineering, think. It definitely could have been me because of whom, that man and countless others have lost their lives. And this, for me , started to make me question myself about a lot of things.
And in those answers I found, We've been pretending to learn, Learn for grades, a good job, a stable life.Is that learning afterall? Close your eyes and go back to your childhood, when you would learn for the satisfaction of feeding a curious mind,Remember how it felt? That was learning. But over time the idea of the learning process has changed into a very different one.
Over the days, I started to hold myself responsible for that man's life and many others that point on. Because I realised passing exams with straight A’s or getting placed at a renowned firm only fuels my over inflated facade for myself but guess what? For the society I live in, it gives them a sense of hope, comfort and trust towards me, only till there comes a time where I can’t even help myself let alone anyone else. I, then asked myself,”would I really be able to apply my learnings if there were a person in medical need, a doctor and me in a room?”. I didn’t have to wait for my question to end because my mind screamed “NO” even before I was done.
So, you tell me is it fair on any ground to behave like I have the knowledge to save humans with the beautiful science of engineering, when I really do not? There is no greater deception than the false pretence of a learned person.
I want to learn to make a difference, to feed my curious mind. All of you must have heard the quote that goes,”Curiosity killed the cat.” right? But what a lot of people do not know is that is just half true. The entire saying goes,”Curiosity killed the cat, and satisfaction brought it back.”
What I am looking for is knowledge and to create the right attitude to accept it.Because , knowledge really is power. So,what better place that a community full of writers? I assume We all, together, can do greater good for the generations to come. So hop in on this quest for knowledge? Let’s get started.
That’ll be MazeLearner for you!

Welcome to Steemit! I'm glad to see you getting involved here and joining in. I hope your experience here is pleasant!
Thank you for the warm welcome! Hope to see you around:)
Haven't seen an introduceyourself post like this before.
Well, first of all I'd advise you told play around more with how you format your posts so that there are more paragraphs and spaces... you know, make it visually nice.
About the post itself - I like what you wrote; I like the way you wrote it; It doesn't really say a lot about you, though, but it sure makes the reader think deeper about the whole learning process.
I'd say this is more of a post about learning than about you.
Otherwise, great job!
Good luck with your future posts!
Roger!
Thanks a lot for the advice. I'll definitely keep that in mind. :)
