Greetings to all steemit enthusiasts!
This is Kat and I first found out about steemit from my son who has been passionately telling me about this new social media website that has only been operating for a very short time but is very unique, as it is a decentralised social media platform. Now... I'm still coming to grips with this concept of "decentralised" as someone born in the bohemian era of love not war, and the idea of a crypto currency is also a really hard concept for me to understand, but you have to give me credit for trying! So, my first debut into the steemit publishing arena is going to be a topic of useful content... so you can learn more about me.
Okay, to start off with, as I've already mentioned... I'm a 50+ spring chicky. My latest exploit to achieve good health and fitness is one speedy 20 minute workout per week with an electrical muscle stimulation machine (see wiki link below). The aim of these short but intense sessions is to activate all the main muscle groups which helps to increase the blood flow, strength and muscle tone of the participant. So for me, tomorrow morning is session number 4, and what I've observed over the last few weeks is an urge to become more active, like taking my doggy "Mitchy" for a walk. Interestingly, my husband Banjo commented the other day that he noticed that "its" working. I then asked him how he could tell, and his answer was "because you have a smile on your face". That wasn't the response I was expecting.
Another thing about me is that I'm artistic. I've included a painting that I did. FYI... it's not finished yet and I've also manipulated the colours in photoshop to make is more vibrant. The original colours are fine but I thought for publishing purposes it would look so much more dynamic with a bit of pizzazz :) Just a bit about the subject matter of the painting... it is a scene from the Clare Valley in South Australia about 130kms north of Adelaide. The Clare Valley is a wine region and pretty famous for its Riesling. I painted this from a photo taken on a summer's day that was ridiculously hot... about 42 degrees celsius. My husband, some friends and myself were driving around the region visiting wineries and doing some wine tasting. We decided to stop for lunch at a winery called Skillogalee just opposite this homestead. I can't remember what I had to eat but I can definitely remember the wine we drank... a Gewurztraminer... it was spectacular.
Anyway, I think that's all for now. Likely I will expand on other aspects of my life in future posts.
Au revoir pour maintenant :)
Welcome and I really do like your painting! It has a certain impressionist style to it, hints of Van Gogh, beautifull!
Thanks so much oaldamster :)
You are welcome @memyselfi! :-)
Can confirm that she has done the painting as she is my mum.
Welcome to steemit and hope to see more of your paintings!
