Good day everyone! My name is Mindpixel. As my description implies, I'm a transhumanist, cryptocurrency enthusiast, and a coder. With that in mind, I'd love to bring many of my various thoughts and expertise to Steemit, and enjoy what this community has to offer! While I don't possess as much skill in the English language as I do Java (haha) I will, nonetheless, try my best to convey my thoughts. Maybe I'll get a little Steem out of it, maybe not, but hey! I've got nothing to lose, all to gain!
So, for those who don't know about transhumanism: It could be summed up as the use of technology to extend and enhance once's life. The ultimate goal, of course, is to achieve immortality. I'll tell my readers right now: I don't want to die. Now, who does, right? But by "I don't want to die" I mean that I want to continue living life as long as I possibly can. We exist in an amazing technological age, and it's expanding faster than anyone thought possible. Our world is changing, even, faster than anyone thought possible. It's an extraordinary time we live in, and I want to be around for life's most incredible changes. On a deeper level, and another goal of transhumanism, is achieving Artificial Intelligence, and mind uploading. I fully believe that when the time comes, it'll change humanity's life forever. And if you're life me, you'll want to be one of the early adopters of it! So, there's an idea of what I'll be talking about.
I also mentioned that I'm a cryptocurrency enthusiast, didn't I? I definitely have some stories to tell there! My experience began when BitBills were a thing, when MtGox was thriving, and when Bitcoin was worth around $20 USD. I have been in the game for quite some time; I've done everything from selling, to trading, to mining... I even had a Scrypt ASIC! I'll be sharing my biggest success story, the scams I've fallen victim to, and all sorts of mining and trading tips. Plus, crypto is just pretty damned cool. How could you NOT want to talk about it?
Finally, I'm a coder. It's my most favorite hobby, and my best form of art. My experience began at a high school advanced computer science course; I spent the time learning Java and the insanity of Object Oriented Programming. Since then, I've spent countless hours behind Eclipse and Netbeans developing all sorts of weird projects. One day, I hope to turn it into a profession as a Software Engineer; But college is... expensive, at least here in Wisconsin. Who knows! Maybe I can code that perfect trading bot to make me rich. I plan to one day! But anyway; I know Java, Go, a little bit of C/C++, and I dabble in Lisp. I've even tried Haskell, but my brain isn't ready for that quite yet! I want to get into Deep Learning; but I cannot afford a GPU/Accelerator nor do I have calculus experience.... yet. Time will tell, time will tell... But I'm lucky enough to own a Basys 2 FPGA; so VHDL and verilog are something I've been learning as well. Considering making my own accelerator! Haha, take that Google!
I also enjoy oldschool 90's techno music, vaporwave, and altered states of consciousness. I do have many tales to spin about my earlier days exploring psychedelics, and cautionary anecdotes as well! Finally, I've been working a little bit in open-source intelligence. I might be putting together a daily briefing of global events if people were interested. But hey! I'll blog for my own enjoyment and attract followers as they come. Plus earning crypto by writing for fun sounds great!
So, thank you all for reading. I can't wait to start creating content and enjoying what the community has to offer!
Hey there @mindpixel, you have a lot of talents and interests, your blog is going to be full of awesome! Welcome welcome to the #Steem blockchain!

Hi @mindpixel! Welcome to Steemit!!!
Welcome to Steemit! You have taken the first step in achieving many goals here at the crossroads of cryptocurrencies, blockchain, and social media. Consistent engagement is needed to progress and grow your following and influence. I am currently working on a weekly post to curate new users and providing them an introduction to the ecosystem. I have selected your post as one I will feature in an upcoming post! I explain this initiative on one of my previous post.
There are a number of great content creators on the platform to help you on your journey. I have recently ran into a great post by @roleerob that is great to get off to a great start here on the ecosystem. As I continue to expand this initiative, I continue to find great content and guides for new users such as this post from @finnian who not only includes a great step-by-step process of registering for #Steemit but also provides great security and engagement tips as well to help you on your journey. Another great user creating content for new Steemians is @paulag who is creating community backed video series on learning to navigate STEEM.
Keep your eyes out for these tips and references to help you on your journey to becoming a minnow! It is also a great idea to follow some of the great projects being built on the #STEEM blockchain. You can see these projects here. Some of these projects provide you the ability to interact and engage within the community and have the potential to provide rewards for your engagement. For example, @actifit is a fitness app that tracks your daily activity which you can post to the blockchain and earn rewards for your participation. Another interesting project is @steemmonsters which is a digital trading card game that enables you to collect and battle with the community all within the #STEEM ecosystem.
Lastly, a new initiative has just been launched by one of our top witnesses @gtg to support new users that become very active and need additional bandwidth to remain actively engaged in an effort to build enough Steem Power to grow your influence and interaction in the ecosystem. I would highly encourage you to visit his post for further instructions. I wish you the best in your future endeavors!
