Hello to anyone that reads this! I am a computer science major at UT Dallas. I program, make games, make videos, make music, and play lots of games. I have debilitating social anxiety and have no idea how to make friends or engage with any form of social media, but here I am trying.
@unorgmilitia thank you for inviting me to make this post! Let me answer some of your questions.
- How or when did I first get into crypto?
Well, I haven't really. I don't have any interest in using it as an investment vehicle, and I don't have any current meed for using it as a currency replacement though I am looking to see what coins will be stable as that becomes more viable.
What I am interested in is blockchain technologies that allow public information to remain secured and controlled even in the face of blatant attacks. I think this stuff will change the world, and as a programmer that's what I want to work on!
- How or when did you first hear about hive?
I was trying to find a place to upload a simple 15 minute video, and in my search I found dtube. While I don't think its quite up to par for what I was looking for with a 480p video quality cap, it certainly piqued my interest. I started doing research on it, which lead me to Steem, which lead me to Hive. I think this place is a very interesting concept and I am all here for it, ready to engage.
- How old are you? Where are you from?
I'm 23 years old, I've been floating around all over, though in my life mostly Texas and California.
Thank you to anyone who took the time to read this! hope to see you all 'round the block!
Hell yea man! So glad you made this post, and decided to start using hive.. there is alot going on here.
If you ever wanna hop on discord, and have an audio chat.. I'm using just gaming or messin with crypto!
Have you seen or used 3speak.tv yet? That's another hive app.
I really like where you coming from with the not investing all your money and time into crypto for the financial aspect.
I'm doing that because I'm a bit opposite to you, I am choosing to vote with my wallet as well as my time.
I appreciate all this! And I'd seen mention of it but I haven't looked into it yet, though it's on the list.
I definitely think there is a financial future in crypto, I just havent found my buy-in breaking point yet, and I dont have spare cash to spend wantonly wither, so those are the only two hanging points I have about buying in.
All that being said, I am probably gonna spend some on ETH before they change to Proof of Stake though, and probably make a tony rig to start bidding on blocks, because I think thats the future. that and the current big proof of stake coin (Cardano, I think its built over top of BTC) thats kinda overlooked right now, I think they will blow up in a big way if proof of stake proves to be solid even on a large well established coin like ETH
