Hi fellas
Young man Mads here. 20 summers young to be more precise. Of those 20 summers, I have spent most of them in the cold, lovely and supposed happy country called Denmark. The very obvious reason for that, is that my dear mother gave birth to me and my siblings there.
When I finished the Danish gymnasium, equal to high school, I finally had the chance to fulfill my desire of travelling the world. My plan was to get a job for half a year and then travel wherever I would like to go. That plan did not last long though. After three weeks in a call center, I just woke up one morning and said “fuck it, I quit”. Day in and day out, listening to all the beautiful opinions people have about me and my job, just became too much. Plus all the roses and appreciation from the company I worked at, was just all too overwhelming for a young man as me. I simply did not have the capacity to all the love I received. Too much love will kill you, as Queen sings so nice.
With the desire to travel stronger than ever, because the freedom to do it was right there, I now had to find another way to do so. My first idea, was to find another job, but I would have no idea, when I would land the next one. Therefore I started to play with the thought, of just going with the few money I had earned in those three weeks. Listening to people around me, it did not seem as a possibility, as travelling is “very expensive”.
I started to search the internet, how I could possibly travel on my serious tight amount of money. And I found a way out. I read blogs about these people, who travel from place to place, where they work a few hours each day, and in return, receive food and accomodation. In this way I would barely have any expenses, and could stay abroad for longer periods. Even though it seemed so scary to go into the world alone, I gathered some courage to do it.
I bought a bag, a plane ticket to Spain and when everything was planned out, I told my family and friends, that I would leave in a few weeks, and had no idea when I would return. This might be the best decision I have made so far in my life. In the last year I have been to countries in Europe, North West Africa, the Middle East and Southeast Asia. And while I am writing this, I am sitting in the beautiful city of Rio De Janeiro.
In the future I would like to share some of these stories, experiences and some photos with you guys. At the same time, I will try to express, how my thoughts have been in specific situations and how they might have changed and changed me. My main reason to share my stories right now, is to improve my writing skills. I do though hope, that in the future I will be able to become a successful journalist who is able to inspire people. So if I am good, maybe you guys will read my stories and maybe even like them. If not, just another lesson learned.
At last I would like to give credit to my dear friend @aleluzdosol77, who introduced me to Steemit. So whatever I will learn on my Steemit journey, Alex gave me the seed to do so.
