Hi Steemians,
I came across steemit after researching about blockchain technology and its applicational use. I must say I am fascinated that this entire community is connected without the use of a central network. What I find even more fascinating is that advertising is not the driving force of this platform. Technology truly has grown a lot faster than I have expected it to. With that said I joined steemit to learn more about how the technology behind it will benefit and better the world. In addition, I'd like to get on an active routine to express myself and possibly inspire (or be inspired by) others who have similar interests on this platform (Art, food, design, music). 2017 has been a rough year for me just drifting along trying to find something that I could grasp on to (in addition to all the tragedies around the world). But I've come to realize now that the years coming to an end and reflecting on that horrible feeling of not knowing where I'm going its time to let go and ride it out. Allowing my purpose to come to me by reaching out on places like this and just explore. The world is changing faster than ever and I suppose what once didn't seem possible is becoming more likely to come true.
Coming from the conventional school curriculum you'd think jobs will always be there on the other side when in reality technology (like blockchain) will continue to disrupt many "safe" industries. And yet all the while all those passions and hobbies that were once deemed unlikely to earn a substantial living for most is becoming more of a reality. I'd like to think in my own crisis there lies an opportunity. I guess sometimes there is just no way to the way but by allowing instinct, curiosity, and self-awareness drive one's actions could lead to a more meaningful and fulfilling life. With that, I wish you all Happy Holidays, the best of luck on your endeavors on this platform and beyond, and a prosperous and fulfilling new year!
Wellcome to family :)

Welcome to Steemit, @n0nconf0rm3r! You have indeed landed in a wonderful community and I love the point you made regarding the absence of advertising. Looking forward to your postings in art, food, design and music!
Hi and thanks! :)
Hello and welcome. Just started. Not sure what I am doing yet.
Hi, thanks and yeah no worries. I just started too, this whole thing I'd like to think of it as revolutionary as when the internet became something. It's there but then there still so much mystery surrounding it. It's in its infancy in time we'll understand.
