Hello fellow Steemits!
Q & A below pic...
Q: Who am I?
A: I'm a professional touring musician, film actor, music producer, activist and proud dad. I'm passionate about inspiring people to do their passion, as well as be compassionate caretakers of our precious planet.
Q: How'd I hear about Steemit?
A: Friend and fellow musician, Ben Lee, introduced me to Steemit
Q: Why am I here?
A: I feel it's important for content creatives to be helping each other, both financially and supportively, rather than help make corporations rich from using our content creations.
Q: What films and TV have you been in?
A: I played Chook in the worldwide hit feature film, Muriel's Wedding.
I play Oz in One Less God, which I'm super stoked to say has already won best feature film at Dances With Films Festival in Hollywood, LA plus best film at the Byron Bay International Film Festival and soon to be released in cinemas in Australia, USA and India...
I was also in the Australian TV soap, Home and Away, which has had many well known Aussie actors such as Chris Hemsworth, Isla Fisher, Heath Ledger, Naomi Watts, Isabel Lucas, etc.. Plus other TV shows and theatre productions.
I trained in the same acting school as Joel Edgerton.
Q: Where have you performed your music?
A: I've been lucky to have played at some of the world's most amazing festivals such as: Glastonbury Festival (UK), Edinburgh Fringe Festival (UK), Splendour In the Grass Festival (Aus), Falls Festival (Aus), Woodford Folk Festival (Aus), Super-Heineken Tour (China);
I've also been honoured to have performed on some notorious stages too, such as: The Cavern, Liverpool, England where the Beatles performed; the infamous The Viper Room, West Hollywood, LA, USA;
I've had the great fortune to have played support shows with Grammy Award winners, Wolfmother, Jason Mraz and the Corrs, as well as multi-platinum ARIA winning Australian artists, Birds Of Tokyo, Pete Murray, John Butler, Paul Kelly, Diesel, and heaps more...
Q: What's next?
A: I'll be posting creations up (music videos, tutorial videos, music mp3s, blog articles, etc) and hoping to connect with other awesome content creator, which means people like you.
Please drop me a line to say hi and thanks so much for reading this far...
Blessings and good vibes,
Nathan
Welcome to steemit, what kind or types of music you showcase?
Best of luck to you and have a good day. =)
Thanks so much! The styles I play are a blend of blues-rock-folk-world because the instruments I play are lapsteel slide guitar, Didgeridoo (traditional Aboriginal wind instrument), vocals, human beatbox, electronic foot drums. My lyrics are usually focussed around positive-uplifting vibes, self-development and eco-consciousness.
Great to meet you!
Blessings and good vibes to you!
:)
By the way, how do you follow people here on Steemit?
Hi @nathankaye
Thanks for the introduction and enjoy Steeming
Chay later
Cheers! I am still trying to get my head around it all, but enjoying it thus far. :)
Hi Welcome to Steem. Congratulations! It's an awesome community. I followed you. Please follow back. Good Luck.
Thanks so much! I look forward to meeting everyone! I'm new here. How do you follow people?
Click on a persons name. Hit the follow button. Or go to their page and on the top of the page click follow.
Ok, thanks so much! I could only find the follow on the page.
Hi Nathan!
Glad to see another musician join the community. I think you'll like it here, I definitely am so far! I admire your dedication to pursuing your passion, while also maintaining a family life. That can definitely be hard.
Anyways, enjoy the community! If you have any questions, feel free to let me know!
Thanks so much @fellows !
It's definitely a balance! I was touring and doing the single dad thing for a while there too. Now that was a juggle!
Thanks again. I followed you so if any questions arise I'll ask... Actually, I do have one question. How do you search for tags and how do you search for friends?
I've tried to connect with a friend and used the handle he gave me, but nada...
Hey Nathan,
The easiest way I've found to find friends is to type their handle in the address bar of the site.
For example, if I was searching for you, I'd type /@nathankaye (after steemit.com), so in total it would look like this: steemit.com/@nathankaye
Not the most convenient, but it works! Hope this helps :)
(P.S., Any tips on juggling that kind of family life? I'm getting to the point in my life where I'm starting to prioritize family life, but I definitely want to keep up my music!)
This is pretty cool. Welcome to steemit again, I hope you have fun sharing your music and story with us. There are a ton of other aussies on here. Come join us over in MSP/PAL!
Cheers @kubbyelizabeth ! I'm in! :) Can't wait to connect with everyone over there. :)
