Hi I'm Nik and I quit my job.

Hi Steemit, I’m Nikolas. I was told to introduce myself in a comment on one of my more recent dumps of morose writing, so here I am.

I’ve read a lot of these #introduceyourself posts since joining in December of 2016 and I feel that I am now an expert in pandering to you all, but first, let me show you what I look like.

My grandmother thinks my mustache is great too. Like you.

I graduated Cum Laude (loudly) from the University of Washington last year with two degrees that I’ll probably never use, which seems fair enough since I played League of Legends all day and didn’t attend much class. I was in Master tier at one point and that makes it okay.

Can they revoke my degrees if I publicly state that I attended less than a dozen hours of class in my last two years?

Asking for a friend.

My unsolicited piece of wisdom for those of you involved in higher education: what you’re learning probably won’t matter later unless you set out to learn something that will matter, and even then it probably end up mattering much.

Really all a degree is at this point is very expensive proof of work.

We buy them from corporations so that we can be considered for entry-level positions at other corporations that require 1-3 years of experience, which we could’ve been accruing earlier, but oh no wait, we were busy paying for our degrees.

“It was worth it for the life experiences.”

My day job is selling software to businesses because of this google search circa 2016:

Search terms change lives.

Turns out I’m great at it too, made it to the mid-level and now I’m a Partner Sales Manager™. I have thousands of hours of valuable life experience in the field of sitting at computer and talking to people on a headset, so all my wild success hasn’t come as a shock.

I scream fewer obscenities at my job than I did on the Fields of Justice™

The search terms that actually changed my life went something like this:

acidgoogle.jpg

Trying to buy acid led me to the silkroad, which led me to bitcoin, which in a roundabout way led me here.

Funny the way it is.

Anyway, writing about myself is boring, since in the grand scheme of things I probably don’t matter, so allow me to segue into a direct address to the world at large on the subject of cryptocurrency:

STOP SHILLING SHITCOINS.

Seriously, I heard a teenager talking to his grandmother about BitConnect in the grocery store last week.

STOP SHILLING SHITCOINS.

Regular people getting burned by shitcoins with no valid use cases is BAD for crypto as a whole.

STOP SHILLING SHITCOINS

I know a lot of my ire here needs to be directed at bots and teams of marketing firm agents trying to program us via comment threads, but still, honestly, do some research before plugging things, your vested interest has clouded your judgment.

With that said, from next week until the forseeable future I’ll be putting out a weekly video on projects in the crypto space I see as solving for real problems in today’s world, ostensibly to make sure some other kid’s grandma gets better ROI.

Here’s to 2018, and putting time spent on the internet to good use.

Can't wait to make videos with you babe! :) Also, we both know I'm a huge fan of the 'stache

I like it. Following along to see what drops out of the sky (or your computerized version of your pie hole). I like the video concept. I'm on pins and needles over here. Welcome to the wild side.

What an exciting time for you. Fresh starts bring out the best in people. Lol about how you hate when people shill shit coins. So true. Good luck with the videos!

Welcome! Looking forward to your vids
