Hey everyone!
My name is Luka, and I'm a long time lurker on the hive. I had an account on steemit back in 2017 while it was still legit. I was writing stories there, but I gave it to a friend so he could play around as I didn't have the time to write. Meanwhile, around a year ago I started making small arbitrage trades on the hive engine and saving some of my cryptocurrency in my wallet, but only recently I decided to join hive as I started doing creative work once again. This time I won't be writing so much, but.....
A few months ago I've reawakened my first hobby ever - photography! By pure chance I got a new camera and I started shooting around. Remembering how it felt when I was way younger I was sucked in and couldn't stop taking pictures and editing stuff in lightroom and photoshop. And that's what you will see me posting. So before I continue, this is me:
Gear
When I'm out shooting you can usually see me carrying only one small bag packed with a simple Canon EOS 2000D body, a kit lens, and a 50mm prime lens I use for portrait photos. Ohh and this image was taken by a mobile phone... and I suck when taking pictures with a phone...
Street
Sometimes you can see me around the streets snapping photos in all directions. But this is only when I have the time to wander around aimlessly while searching for the right frame. You can see a few of the shots I made last year when I was still learning how to use camera (and attempting to color grade photos). This is something I use to exercise my eye to find beauty wherever I go, and so far it changed how I view everything I see, even when I don't carry my camera around.
Portrait photos
One thing I love about photography is that it can be a great way to connect with other people (if they aren't scared of camera) and give them a moment or two that they will remember! This is why my favorite genre is portrait photography. It can do so much to make someone look amazing, deliver emotion to the viewers and actually bring value to the individuals and businesses that create content in order to promote themselves.
Edits
When I come home after a photo session, I don't stop my creative process. In fact, the magic only begins there. First thing I do is open up lightroom to enhance what I made with the camera, and after that I immediately do the finishing touches in photoshop. After that I allow myself to play around to achieve different look if I wish. Also, I do photo editing for others from time to time as a freelancer, but this is not my main goal here.
Before I finish
I mentioned that photography was my first hobby ever. I gotta post proof since it is one of my favorite pictures ever! On the left you can see me holding an old camera (I think it is analog fujifilm, but I'm not sure).
