Hello, this is Okiki, decided to use this name here as it's already my pen name as well. I usually approach poetry with simplicity in mind so as to carry the reader along. I was recently introduced to this platform and I felt a sense of urgency to join. Hoping to learn and unlearn when necessary as there is wisdom in doing so.
Life presents opportunities and it feels like I just walked into a land of opportunities here. Hoping to interact as much as I can when I can. Peace and blessings to you all.

Yes, engagement is the key to success on Hive. Just as hard work is too. This is not a get-rick-quick platform. You get out of it what you put into it.
Just check out the numerous Communities under the COMMUNITIES Tab above. Each one will give you a description of what their community is about and the requirement to post your content to it.
Finally, you only list 3 tags in your post above. PEAKd allows you to use 10 tags. Whatever the subject matter of your post, use a tag to represent it.
For example,
Poetry: poetry, writing
Personal experiences or writing about your country: lifestyle, x country

Welcome to Hive! I think it's awesome that you found us. There is a good amount of poetry and writer focused communities on here that support each other so I would definitely check out the communities section. It looks like they've already recommended some for you since that's not my specialty.
I want to also offer a piece of advice since you're new. One of the best ways to be successful on here and to gain attention as well as followers is for you to go to peoples posts and engage with them. Talking with others when your new is a great way to learn how to use the platform, ask questions and learn some of the in's and out's of what so many of us call home.
Once you do that you will gain a foothold and I'm sure you will gain recognition as it looks like your writing style is polished, at least on the first post.
With engaging with lots of people you will make friends, connections and it will improve the platform that much more to have another person going around like a lot of us do and getting people talking, getting more attention on here.
