Hi, thank you for dropping by.
I find Steemit is full of fantastic people, and I love to be here!
About me
My enthusiasm
I love exploring new things.
I’m a linguist of English language and a tech enthusiast, who also loves travel, arts, music, etc.
My journey to artificial intelligence
Most people think it’s Mission Impossible to take advantage of the great technology our time provides us, unless you’re Tom Cruise level programming badass.
As a linguist, I dreaded I’d be replaced by bots like the one in “Her.” I don’t want that. So, I dived into the sea of computer science and tried if it’s possible to ride this bull, rather than getting killed by it.
Daunting as it may seem, this domain turned out to be quite easy and welcoming.
Thanks to those generous great scientists out there, all the math and algorithms we don’t like have been dealt with. And they will continuously and vigorously update them. In present days, programming is like playing Lego.
Scientists give us the building blocks for free, so we don’t need to make them first with our own hands to build our own empires. We just download the blocks:
And then we stack them up as per our vision.
For example, nowadays, to use the artificial intelligence, we just prepare our data we download from the internet, show it to the computer, and say the magic word “train.” And our computer will start exploring the data and see the hidden value behind them.
Then, the computer will enlighten us when we command it with another spell “predict.”
We don't have to worry about the math process. Our machines know what to do already. I promise!
I know there are a lot more than abundant tutorials out there, and I learned what I’ve learned from them too.
But as a linguist, I would like to translate this scientists’ special language into simple English,
e.g.:
doors[0].open(speed=0.05, acceleration=0)
I'd translate it for you as
"Open the main door slowly,"
so that you can ride the great tech they make and enjoy your life too, and say goodbye to the old days when computers spit back “I’m sorry, Dave. But I don’t think that’s possible” (of course, unless you want to work as a full-time developer, in which case you’ll need to go to university).
Blockchain
I’m a bitcoin enthusiast, and I have great hope on it as well as the blockchain technology.
This peer-to-peer cryptographic transfer system that only recognizes the math of trust as its government, in which there’s no central authority and everyone forms one authority, has been seen so resilient that it survived all the centralization powers’ harshest attacks for years, like banks, governments, and bureaucrats, and it’s such a great tech for real democracy.
I believe that this technology and all the cryptocurrencies, mostly bitcoin, will be the future. The world will be governed by the math we collectively fight for, and we all WILL take back the control of our lives.
All those people knowing poorly about this technology have all sorts of concerns, like vulnerability to illegal exploitation, meanwhile I have faith in the math geniuses like Satoshi Nakamoto and his (or her, their, whatever possessive case) fervent followers that they can eventually transform the traditional law
into the math that regulates the system automatically and authoritatively,
and the whole world will accept and strive to adopt it.
As long as Satoshi Nakamoto stays anonymous, which he/she/they probably will, I will always have faith in this technology.
My desire
I am ambitious to lower the difficulty to make money by making use of artificial intelligence and bitcoin, so that we don’t need to work so hard for the piecemeal salary. And I’m halfway there now. I’d like to share it with you along the way (IF YOU WANT IT). Follow, upvote, and comment me, and I’ll be motivated to sending out my learning, my findings, and my ideas.
My hobbies
I’m not so nerdy.
As a linguist, I also love cultures, movies, pets, and more, and I love sharing special stuff about my city Guangzhou and my family, and I enjoy reading all other stuff you share, not just about tech.
And I love travel!! Ironically, in a typical Chinese family, I don’t have much chance to travel. I’ve only been to Guilin of Guangxi Province, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Chiang Mai. But I’d love reading steems on travel.
Here are some photos of my Chiang Mai honeymoon. Hope you like them.
Are you with me?
If you like me, keep following, upvoting, and commenting on me, so that I can keep the stuff coming and let's thrive together. Cheers!!
Gratitude to Steemit
I’d like to spend a part of this blog to thank @teamsteem for the amazing invention. I used to be so active on Facebook, but then it got muted in China and I was forced to disappear from there until I figured out an unusual way a decade later.
Now, Steemit can’t be muted, and I’m back with other parts of the world again!!
Hooray ^.^

Links for Newbies:
Hello! I’ve been here since January and wish someone had given me the following links when I made my introduction post. I could have done better sooner.
Steemworld.org is a free service that interfaces with steemit.com and provides a wealth of information about your account. Use your own @handle to access your account information.

If you are coming here to pick a fight be advised that they have a flagging system here that penalizes your account “wallet” for unacceptable behavior. This a post will help avoid problems:

Don’t beg for upvotes or resteems:

One of the biggest mistakes I made was that I was too anxious to get into this platform and did not read ALL of the Frequently Asked Questions: Read the whole thing including the “White Paper”. You will not regret taking the time to learn these important facts:

This is about the slow grind to gain reputation and steem power:

I typically post and resteem articles helpful to new steemians. If you choose to follow me I will be happy to answer your questions.
Good luck and have fun!
