Little high, little low.
hey... Steemit!
First off, I would like to wish everyone a happy new year. I trust all of you enjoyed the first day of 2018! I hope you all watched the ball drop in awe, voice hoarse from counting down and the subsequent celebratory screams. I hope you are all inspired to accomplish all your new year goals. Remember to keep them within reach... don't strain yourself reaching for the stars because for all you know the light you're reaching for is just a distant echo of false hope that burnt out long before we were even thought of. Use this irrelevant marking of time as a starting point, so that next year it is a little less irrelevant.
But enough about you, I assume you're here to learn a little about me and what to expect from this blog.
Currently, I am a software engineer at a company that specializes in developing commercial insurance solutions. I am just over a year into the corporate world, and am already planning my escape. I appreciate the sense of security that comes with this type of job, however I don't see myself willingly handing my life over to work under someone else's terms for the long run.
I want to live for me. I want to create. I want to travel. I want to make music. I want to innovate. I want to make films. I want to make my daughter smile. I want to laugh. I want to evolve. I want to capture moments. I want to be better than the best me I can possibly think of at this very moment.
But for now, I am stuck in a box, punching buttons for bigger people. And until I climb out, these will be my thoughts, expressions and experiences.
Maybe we think the same. Maybe we're a little more alike than we thought. Or maybe we're just wasting time.
