Hello World!

ブログとSteemit初心者のOnzaです！今年ついに三十路になりました、アメリカ人で日本人の母を持つ、東京在住のハーフです。
Onza here! New to both blogging and Steemit. I'm a recently-turned-30-year-old half-Japanese American expat living in Tokyo.

小っちゃいころから日本に行ったり来たりしていましたが、住むようになってから8年目に入りました。大学を出るまではほぼアメリカにいたので完全にアメリカ生まれ育ちで芯までアメリカ人であることはずっと変わりはないと思います。しかし、母親の影響が強かったので自分は「ハーフ」という意識をしっかり持っています！と言いながらも見た目は殆ど白人にしか見えないとよく言われます（不思議と逆も言われる時もありますが）。日本育ちでもないがこんな感じでハーフのあるある話しを色々と持っています。
I've been in and out of Japan since I was a little kid, but I'm now in my 8th year since I've started to live in Japan. I was mostly in the US until graduating university, so I'm purely US grown and will probably never stop being American at heart. But my (Japanese) mother had a strong influence on me, and so I very much see myself as "half", although a lot of people tell me I look purely white (even though I am strangely told the opposite sometimes too). So even though I didn't grow up in Japan, I have quite a few episodes that many half-Japanese seem to share.

母親のように海外（特に自分のルーツがある日本）に行って母語じゃない言葉の中で生活することに対しての強い憧れの末、日本国費の奨学金で東京の大学で修士課程を終えて現在は都内の病院で医療事務をやっています。
Like my own mother, I had a strong desire to go overseas (especially in Japan where my roots lie) and live in a language other than my own native language. The product of this was earning my master's degree through a Tokyo university on a full-ride Japanese governmental scholarship, and now I work in hospital administration in a Tokyo hospital.

身長は190センチ近く、見た目の割にスポーツはあまりできないが、少し空いた時間に趣味の音楽（ギター）やゲームを楽しんだり、たまにはカメラをやっています！日本語に関しては子供のころからずっと周りにあったので十分に自信を持っていますが、全然完璧でもないことをはっきり自覚していますのでそこら辺は優しくして頂ければ嬉しいです！
I stand close to 190cm in height but have very little ability in sports. In my spare time I may partake in enjoying music (guitar), video games, or dabbling in a bit of photography. Since I've had Japanese around me since I was a kid, I am confident enough with it. But I am more than clearly aware that it is nowhere near perfect, so please do take it easy on me in that regard!
