Hello! My name is Michael! I'm a lifelong risk taker and experience addict. When I was 17 I dropped out of highschool because I didn't like having my entire day taken up by things I wasn't interested in. I had been teaching myself programming, and just couldn't pull myself away from that. Soon after dropping out, I joined an interactive agency in Cleveland, OH and everything just kind of worked out from there. 14 years later and I'm still working in software. I've worked for lots of great people and even built my own company in 2012. I sold it in 2014 and am currently working for small startups doing software consulting.
I got into crypto in November when I bought a couple D3 Antminers to play with. I had a blast setting up my rigs and mining different coins with them. By far the most profitable for me was MonacoCoin -- currently being rebranded to monoeci. I set up a masternode for that, and the value has since increased substantially. MonacoCoin really hooked me on mining and piqued my interest in accumulating some of the more obscure altcoins. I'm also holding a good amount of Etherium, Basic Attention Token, FunFair, Bitcoin and Dash. As an engineer, I'm really interested in blockchain technology and specifically cryptocurrency. To me, it's obvious that the future of the internet is in distributed networks. I'm also excited about the possibility of the general population holding and managing our own wealth. Crypto is going to change the world. Steemit caught my attention because it's a truly distributed community that literally runs on its very own currency. Amazing. I am so excited to be a part of this. I plan on sharing things that make me laugh, things I enjoy, things I make, places I go, software stuff and general thoughts. I may have some cool stuff up my sleeve too!
Welcome to steemit!
right on!
