I travelled through Venezuela in 1997. Stopped off in Maracay to head to the coast... somewhere... then back and onto Maracaibo where we stayed in an old jail cell before heading off to Santa Marta.
I remember the oil wells and the intense heat, it was late November and I hadn’t experienced heat like it before.
What an insanely beautiful country it was, Caracas still stays with me vividly. I hope one day I can travel there again.
We also had the largest steak I have ever eaten to this day. Just shy of 1kg of beef.
Wow how many memories !!, If it is a very beautiful country it hurts that the economic situation is so bad :( I hope you are well and thank you <3
