While I am still trying to find my way around steemit (just any help is appreciated - thanks in advance), I thought it good to introduce myself.
Breathin', eatin' and sleepin' near Antwerp, #Belgium (rest assured I sometimes also do other things there.) My avatar is pretty much like this:
This is a selfie (before the name became popular) I made in the reflection of an artwork (don't exactly recall which one) in the Museum of Art, NYC. I kind of like it (well, maybe you don't, but then you will have to accustom to it, I guess) because a photographer doesn't like to be photographed and you can see I am holding a camera, which is the essential part of it...
If you wondered where my nickname comes from, it is because I started out with a #Pentax MX and while on a photographic outing with fellow photographers someone called me 'Pentaxke', which loosely translates as 'little Pentax' (even back then Pentax wasn't as popular as it used to - I was the only one with a Pentax.) I tried to change it during the years ('Velviake', 'olympuske', 'Fujike' - oh yes, I changed systems quite a bit) but the original one sort of sticked (and since i changed recently to Pentax again, might i say permanently.)
That is one screw out of many form my old MX.
What do I like?
Well, photography of course.
If that wasn't clear by now, you weren't paying attention. Also interested in history of photography and in particular optics.
Cycling.
IMHO a great way to discover new places. Been cycling to and through Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany and Denmark. This is my last acquisition:
As a consequence (and I know people will hate me for it) I do not like cars. In fact i hate them. I hate them so much that i will probably down vote your ubiquitous post of yet another petrol eating and polluting car. Like it or hate it, I have my cons too.
Walking.
Another great way to discover new places. Combines beautifully with photography (although some people I travel with might disagree.)
Working out.
I had problems with my toes so i am down to a start-to-run 10km again...
Chess.
Hmm, this one is a little tricky. If you were thinking: 'boring!' I may agree. As a spectator it's not much I guess. And if you were thinking 'boring! He doesn't know the Queen from the King...' I might agree with you again, although that used to be different: one time I participated in quarter finals of Holguin Province, Cuba and made heads turn (I finished 8th out of 64 IIRC.) But that's all past, I do it now mainly for fun.
Here you see three of the greatest chess players ever in Wijk aan Zee (when they where a little younger.) You can try to guess who they are.
Listening to music and reading books.
Too much to mention.
Travel.
Great way to get to photography, cycling, walking, reading books, discovering new music and sometimes playing chess, I saw a piece of this magical planet we live on (although I didn't see everything I wanted to see.) My latest was Japan (magical place!)

Welcome @pentaxke! Didn't have Pentax MX but I was dreaming about that camera since I got my hands on a sample, very long time ago :) Beautifully crafted little machine.
They sure ar, excellent ergonomics and very nice to handle. You can find them reasonably cheap nowadays. Thanks for your comment!

Thanks Remco. Ik ben het nog allemaal aan het leren en heb nog heel veel vragen. Eén vraag die het hardst p mijn lippen brandt is, waar komt het geld vandaan. Niemand die er geld wil insteken en iedereen die zoveel mogelijk opbrengsten wil hebben, dat is toch een economisch model dat gedoemd is te mislukken...? Misschien zie ik het te zwart-wit maar het maakt me wel nieuwsgierig...
Het werkt net als mining dacht ik, maar dan met "proof of work" op de blockchain en met upvoting wordt de miningpool verdeeld of zo, als ik het goed begrepen heb. Door te posten zijn we min of meer crypto mining aan het doen.
