Hi everybody, we’re so glad to be here on Steemit! We want to help Steemians to make money from their photography - just like Steemit is rewarding users fairly for their content. Photochain is doing the same for photographers who want to sell their photography.
Photochain helps photographers make more money
Stock photography is one of the biggest ways for many photographers to sell their works. Unfortunately this is an industry that puts a lot of very heavy restrictions on their sellers. The worst of these is that content sellers are not able to set their own pricing AND then they are charged high fees on all works that are sold. On some of the major stock photography platforms this is as much as 77% per transaction.
Photochain is here to put an end to all that and bring back fairness and transparency in photography trading.
Photography contributors finally can take back control over their own photos - choosing their own pricing and license types. Transactions are executed immediately and directly peer-to-peer. This results in incredibly low fees charged to the contributors - they will receive up to 95% of the income generated by their works - and fair pricing, transparent and secure service for the buyers.
And you don’t need to understand blockchain at all to be able to take advantage of our service. With an internal fiat currency to our PHT token exchange, if you desire, you can set all your prices and receive payment in fiat currency. But you still get all the benefits of blockchain: speed, control, security etc.

Copyright, security and speed - we've thought of everything
Photochain’s product doesn’t just stop at fees however - their innovative Digital Copyright Chain (DCC) solution, is also taking copyright protection to the blockchain. I'm confused: Can I send ETH from an exchange wallet (like bitpanda) to get PHT tokens? At one time you state that this is possible and in the confirmation email you say that one shouldn't. So what is correct? Thanks

Stock photos is something I have always been interested in. I look foward to your progress.
Ok but how it will be different from regular photo stocks? They work pretty well imo
But they don't really work in the modern age. They have so many manual processes (copyright, content checking, payments etc...) that the fees that are charged to stock photographers is crazy high.
Does Shutterstock charging an average fee of 77% to photographers constitute as working well? Wouldn't a 5% fee work even better? Is exclusivity fair and working well too?
We believe that photographers have only ever had the current stock photography monopoly to deal with, so whilst it works, it is far from optimal. Photochain is not the alternative. It is the inevitable future.

How are you going to market the collection once photographers have contributed work? What plans in place do you have for outpacing the competition? I think there are some legitimate hurdles that will have to be overcome if this will be profitable for anyone. I'm currently a part of Stocksy United, one of the premiere stock photo agencies in the world, and even with the strong dedication of the coop and cutting edge quality of the content, making a sustainable income is not a cakewalk.

A great idea. I buy images from time to time for my blog from Shutterstock,Dreamstime. But as a Steemian it will be good to support in-house.
