Deciding recently to begin writing at least something on the Hive blockchain, I would like to join in with others before me, who have learned about how blockchains and AI are coming together on a social media platform that markets itself as being "censorship resistant."
As a liberty-loving person,
I do not know if there is anything more important
than our ability to speak freely.
Without fear!
While I wonder why there is the caveat of saying "resistant" rather than "proof," I guess I will find out, as I start by writing my introductory post.
Brief Profile
It will be brief since I did not decide to start writing on the Hive blockchain to talk about myself. This is an introduction, however, so I will provide some idea.
Introduction to Hive
A lot of the details of how I learned about Hive, etc. happened over a long period of time. As they occurred, I had no reason to keep notes about any of it, as I had no thought of ever arriving at this day.
Brief highlights (such as they are):
- A couple of years ago, I saw the first reference somewhere online to a post on the Hive blockchain. In that very first exposure, I learned the content was on a blockchain, as that was not immediately clear. I also learned those writing content were earning an income!
I bookmarked it, for future reference. - Off and on over the next few months, I looked into it here and there. And read posts that were interesting, as well as slowly learning more about the Hive blockchain itself.
One of the these posts provided some "how-to" details, at a good time for me to follow-up, and I created an account. - While more than once since considering whether I should begin writing posts of my own, with a lot going on IRL, it was relatively easy to put it off until maybe a better time.
Well, something as simple as approaching the one year anniversary of creating an account was enough to prompt me to at least get this first post published.
Personal Attributes
I could sum it up simply by saying my Myers-Briggs Type Indicator is INTJ, as I have taken this test numerous times and always ended up with the same result. INTJs are supposedly a rare breed ...
You have no experience with that well-known psychological test, which purports to divide people up into 16 different categories? Need more? 🤷♂️ Okay ... 🫡
- Reserved. Not shy, but definitely not an extrovert.
- Reflective. While I can be decisive and spontaneous, as needed, I prefer to have time to think things through, before acting.
- Candid. I prefer candor and can be counted on to communicate in a very straightforward manner. Saves a lot of time ... 😉
I don't have much more to say, at the moment. Beyond time constraints, I don't mind saying one of the issues stopping me was what I read in various places about the rules for how best to get started. Which included publishing a picture of yourself, telling everyone where you live, etc.
Simply stated, I value my privacy. And, therefore, I will not be doing that.
Interests
If I have chosen to write my first post, then an obvious question might be what will keep me writing? For someone like me, that is not all that easy to answer, as I have a variety of interests.
Over this past year, as I have read various posts and learned more about how Hive is organized, I have at least some idea of where I might start contributing.
Here is a list of what has stood out to me (in no particular order), so far:
- Free Compliments community. When I first encountered this community, I was immediately drawn to the efforts of some to provide encouragement to others. It is remarkable how much a sincerely stated and timely word of encouragement is worth.
- Hive Garden community. I love the simplicity and literally down-to-earth nature of gardening. It just seems healthy and life affirming, in so many different ways.
- Silver Bloggers community. While I may or may not always agree with everything a person might be inclined to say, I am always appreciative of when they appear to be thoughtful and well-intentioned. While there are probably many others on Hive, this community seemed to be where I found the most content like this.
- Rant, Complain, Talk community. We all have days that are not the best ... It was interesting to find this community, on a free speech platform, where we can just vent, from time to time.
- Freewriters community. If nothing else comes to mind, on a slow day, this seems to be a very supportive community for just writing something on the daily.prompt topic.
While this is not a complete listing of all I have uncovered, this provides me a good reference for coming back at some point in the future and seeing how much this list stays the same. Or changes ...
I truly do not know enough about it all right now to say. What I can imagine as a key part of the decision-making process will be (brilliant deduction, Captain Obvious ... 🤷♂️) the impressions made over time by the people who are in these communities.
Before wrapping up this section, I would like to express my appreciation for the work that went into the posts I found on the @newbies-guide account. While I have not read all of the content posted on it, there is a wealth of information to be found there.
Start as a Partnership?
Reading through various posts over time, I have tried my best to formulate what, if anything, I think about it. And what, if anything, I would do about it, if I ever chose to begin participating myself.
I have decided on what will be a good approach to begin - think of it as a partnership. Why? The best impressions made on me have been posts where there is a lot of interaction from others, in the comments below the posts of the author.
Want to encourage a particular activity?
Reward it!
And by doing that, I will hope to stimulate more of it ... With that in mind, here is what I will do, to begin:
- Set Reward.app as the beneficiary, to help:
- Keep some HIVE liquid. This will allow me to power up what I can, while maintaining some flexibility. If I am understanding correctly, having funds locked away for 13 weeks seems like a long time.
- Reward comments from readers - default setting of 4%?
- Set Comment.rewarder as a beneficiary, to help reward comments - double the default setting of 3% to 6%?
- A little friendly competition is encouraged, right? At post payout, reward best comment with an HSBI. Publish the winner in:
- The footer of the next post?
- The footer of the (edited) post in which it is awarded?
- Add a comment notifying the person?
So, 4% + 6% = 10% of my post rewards will go to those who help make it as constructive and positive a contribution to the blockchain as we can collectively manage. Plus, a "cherry on top" of 1 HSBI to whomever is deemed to have made the biggest contribution.
I look forward to finding out where this team effort to produce content for future blocks on the Hive blockchain leads.

- Comunidad de Despotricar, Quejarse y Hablar. Todos tenemos días que no son los mejores... Fue interesante encontrar esta comunidad, en una plataforma de libre expresión, donde podemos desahogarnos de vez en cuando.
- Comunidad de Escritores Libres. Si no se me ocurre nada más, en un día lento, esta parece ser una comunidad muy solidaria para escribir algo sobre el tema daily.prompt.
Si bien esta no es una lista completa de todo lo que he descubierto, me proporciona una buena referencia para volver en algún momento en el futuro y ver cuánto se mantiene igual esta lista. O cambia...
Realmente no sé lo suficiente sobre todo esto ahora como para decirlo. Lo que puedo imaginar como una parte clave del proceso de toma de decisiones serán (deducción brillante, Capitán Obvio... 🤷♂️) las impresiones que dejan con el tiempo las personas que están en estas comunidades.
Antes de terminar esta sección, me gustaría expresar mi agradecimiento por el trabajo que se realizó en las publicaciones que encontré en la cuenta @newbies-guide. Si bien no he leído todo el contenido publicado allí, hay una gran cantidad de información que se puede encontrar allí.

Kurzprofil

Ich habe es als Lesezeichen gespeichert, um es später wieder zu lesen. - Im Laufe der nächsten Monate schaute ich hier und da immer mal wieder nach. Und ich habe interessante Beiträge gelesen und langsam mehr über die Hive-Blockchain selbst gelernt.
In einem dieser Beiträge fand ich einige Anleitungen, und zwar zu einem für mich passenden Zeitpunkt, um weiter nachzuhaken. Ich habe dann ein Konto erstellt. - Obwohl ich seitdem mehr als einmal darüber nachgedacht habe, ob ich anfangen sollte, eigene Beiträge zu schreiben, war es relativ einfach, es auf einen besseren Zeitpunkt zu verschieben, da im echten Leben viel los war.
Nun, etwas so Einfaches wie der bevorstehende einjährige Jahrestag der Kontoerstellung war genug, um mich dazu zu bewegen, zumindest diesen ersten Beitrag zu veröffentlichen.
Persönliche Eigenschaften
Ich könnte es einfach zusammenfassen, indem ich sage, mein Myers-Briggs Typanzeige ist INTJ, da ich diesen Test schon mehrmals gemacht habe und immer das gleiche Ergebnis erhalten habe. INTJs sind angeblich eine seltene Spezies ...

Ich habe im Moment nicht viel mehr zu sagen. Abgesehen von der Zeitbeschränkung kann ich sagen, dass mich eines der Probleme, die mich davon abgehalten haben, das war, was ich an verschiedenen Stellen über die Regeln gelesen habe, wie man am besten anfängt. Dazu gehörte, ein Bild von sich selbst zu veröffentlichen, allen mitzuteilen, wo man wohnt usw.
Einfach gesagt, ich lege Wert auf meine Privatsphäre. Und deshalb werde ich das nicht tun.

- Rant, Complain, Talk-Community. Wir alle haben Tage, die nicht die besten sind ... Es war interessant, diese Community auf einer Plattform für freie Meinungsäußerung zu finden, wo wir uns von Zeit zu Zeit einfach Luft machen können.
- Freewriters-Community. Wenn mir an einem ruhigen Tag nichts anderes einfällt, scheint dies eine sehr unterstützende Community zu sein, um einfach etwas zum Thema daily.prompt zu schreiben.
Obwohl dies keine vollständige Liste von allem ist, was ich entdeckt habe, bietet es mir eine gute Referenz, um irgendwann in der Zukunft wiederzukommen und zu sehen, wie viel diese Liste gleich bleibt. Oder sich ändert ...

Also gehen 4 % + 6 % = 10 % meiner Post-Belohnungen an diejenigen, die dazu beitragen, einen so konstruktiven und positiven Beitrag zur Blockchain zu leisten, wie wir gemeinsam schaffen können. Und als „Sahnehäubchen“ gibt es 1 HSBI für denjenigen, der den größten Beitrag geleistet hat.
Ich freue mich darauf, herauszufinden, wohin diese Teamarbeit bei der Erstellung von Inhalten für zukünftige Blöcke der Hive-Blockchain führt.

Die restlichen Elemente, die unter meiner Kontrolle stehen, folgen, sobald ich sie veröffentliche.
- Andere werden entscheiden, ob ich gute Inhalte erstellt habe oder nicht. Nach dem, was ich gelesen habe, ist die Wahrnehmung dessen, was das ist, eindeutig ein Thema, das viel Leidenschaft hervorruft.
Damit bin ich dabei, meinen ersten Beitrag auf der Hive-Blockchain zu veröffentlichen. Wer weiß, was in den kommenden Tagen, Wochen und Monaten vor uns liegt?

Wenn ich dieses Portal an unbekannte Orte betrete:
- Ich werde herausfinden, wie viel Zeit ich dafür aufwenden kann, während ich gleichzeitig ein gesundes Gleichgewicht mit meinem Leben aufrechterhalte und Verantwortungen außerhalb.
- Ich werde entscheiden, ob ich mein Konto „organisch“ ausbaue (das Wort, das ich in mehreren Beiträgen verwendet gesehen habe) oder mehr HIVE mit externen Mitteln kaufe. Oder … eine Kombination aus beidem …
Da ich jetzt ein wenig zur Zukunft der Hive-Blockchain beitrage, freue ich mich über alle Kommentare, Vorschläge, „Profi-Tipps“ usw.

This resonates for me. A lot. While I seem to wear my heart on my sleeve, and yes, there is a picture of me, there is still a lot that doesn't get here. The Husband was intensely private which is why I never used his name. I still don't and won't and rarely mention RL friends by name - for the same reason.
Hive, Silver Bloggers and other communities are microcosms of the real world. That means that there are disagreements - often vehement ones - and there are rule makers and rule breakers. How, individually, we decide to deal with them is up to us.
You were smart to have lurked for as long as you did and I hope it's helped you to ease your way in.

This is one of the most important reasons why it has taken me a year to write anything. The content I read through in newbies-guides made it pretty clear this mindset was frowned upon. At least that was the impression it left with me. Which resulted in the lingering idea then this was probably not the place for me.
Maybe there is a little niche in here somewhere for me after all. 👍

Please forgive the lack of an upvote on your first comment here to me, @tengolotodo. From what I read in the newbies-guides, my upvote on comments is wasted. Being pretty frugal at my age ... (😉) ... I would rather not have my money wasted.
P.S. On newer posts, I can award my micro upvote and have it provide a reward to those commenting. Earlier today, however, I got the notice from comment.rewarder that this post is already closed, for that benefit. It apparently makes its check after 3 days, rather than 7.
Don't worry about voting comments, it is a complete waste of time until you get a decent amount of staked HP under your belt.
The rewarder comment app thing does indeed only collect comments upto three days after the post is posted to curate. You are doing it right.
It is more important you engage verbally than with a vote on comments on thi stage.
If I were you then I would only vote on posts, and if you like a post then comment. Don't worry about voting a comment you receive.

Understood. And I knew in advance of choosing to start writing that would be important. The only comment upvotes will be on my own posts, as I have now gotten some confirmation that it works for the partnership approach I touched on here in my introduction.
Once I have gotten farther along, I will review and refine these starting point decisions, as needed. And probably write some sort of an update post, if that seems best.
For now, my integrity dictates that I follow through on doing what I said I would do.
Talking about voting, try to keep your voting mana above 80%, the less you have then the even less your vote is worth...
Yes, I find too many people adopt a scattergun approach and post all over the place. Keep it simple, stick to a few communities, engage and get yourself known and it becomes a great place to be.
It was your first post in SB that brought me here as I had not come across you before, and yes we want legit users. Unfortunately there are so many bad actors around that you can never be too careful!

Yeah I tend to be the curator for the community most of the time.
Not to help you get started, it was a decent post. Hive is about making connections and doing it right. You have sat and observed and are making good posts. You source things, you format things and you proof read your content.
Now you engage too, these are all good things that will get you noticed. Don't focus on rewards as those are a law unto themselves!
