Hello steemit friends!
Today I come to tell you the story of my grandmother: Her name is Carlota Fernandez, she was born in 1946 here in Venezuela. But we all say: Maita!
Now, why talk about my grandmother? Why would not you? My grandmother at 72 years old is the greatest woman they can meet, she is a brave, adventurous woman and a very happy person.
From her I have learned the love for life, which I think is the most important, the love for nature, since from a very young age we traveled as a family because of her idea, from her I learned love for Venezuela, to love her and to learn from history of what has happened in our land, learn from historical sites and learn to respect what surrounds us, I believe that she sowed that seed in me, the love for what is ours!
Now what my story really is that I want to encourage the awakening of many people, that out of laziness, fear or because they do not want do not fight for what they love, do not fight for what they want or for what they deserve, my grandmother from the beginning of the problems in my country has said that it is never going to break. She, like many of our grandparents, has already lived through dictatorships, and refuses to live it again and does not want her grandchildren, her children and her loved ones in this case to go through everything she has already lived, and I think this is what inspires her the most to fight.
And from where we came from, the struggle has always been constant, and my grandmother has shown that age does not matter, when you fight for what you love, when you have a persuasively developed character, and when you are conscious that you should never lose hope.
(Detail of the plantón, protest of 2016)
Every day, from early when protests are called, my grandmother is the example; she stops and leaves first, without waiting for anyone, she goes with her enthusiasm, with her will and with her character of struggle, showing that when you want something you can, showing that if at 72 you do not lose hope Why are so young people? Do not let them beat us, let's not stop fighting!
My grandmother is an example of love, persuasion, dedication and humility, she is an example for all who know her, besides that she has earned the respect and love of many who know who she is.
My grandmother is an example of happiness, good vibes and struggle, since very young has always been characterized by his desire to help people, was a nurse and since I have use of reason, to ask a favor is done without expecting anything In return.
We all have someone great in our lives, a hero that we esteem, a person who has taught us everything, a person we love, mine is my grandmother, _ and yours? _

Isn't it amazing how the most remarkable people we are lucky enough to have in our lives get older but their spirit never ages. I love the picture of her having a beer, very funny. A few years back I was at a good friend's grandparents' house after his grandfather had passed away. He lived an amazing life for 87 years. His wife, also 85 years old. was definitely blind sided with the grief but she has always been such a relentless person for the several years I had known them since I had known my lifelong (38 years) friend. In the middle of the day her neighbor from across the street walked gingerly across the street, she is 90 years old at the time, and sits by Charlene (my friend's grandmother). Then the 90 year old lady hands her a cigarette and told her "You probably need one today." There were little kids sitting there and Charlene tells her son, who is like 60, "Yeah girls this how you live to be old" as she and her old lady friend are each puffing on their cigarettes (she never quit 50 years ago, literally smoked one a day, no joke). Funny, but very sweet lady. She is extremely kind but at the same time tough as nails. She reminded me of Mickey (that is her tough side) the trainer in the movie Rocky, if you'd ever seen that.
