Hi Steemit,
My name is Jessica, I'm a TV producer based out of NYC. Welcome to my page where you can enjoy all things reality TV.

In a society where information has become too accessible it's hard to decipher what's real and what isn't. Reality TV most certainly isn't but we continue to watch it, criticize it and romanticize it as a culture. Reality TV as we know it started as a trend of non-scripted formats in the 90's which placed real people into produced situations to tell their stories. There is a certain allure to watching other people. As humans we're interested in what others are doing and reality TV allows us to eavesdrop on the conversation. There is this infatuation with reality stars because we know them, they are the players, the mean girls, the hopeless romantics. These archetypes are molded by the producers who pull the strings behind the scenes. One reason why reality stars have become so popular is because they're accessible. We can watch them go on vacation, break up with someone and fall down drunk after a late night of partying. There's this insider feeling that we can't get anywhere else and that has trickled down into everything. People want to feel like they know what's going on and that they have the inside scoop. Today we can go on social media and see what anyone is doing with out having to ask. We can get this secret access to other people's lives. So we keep watching and following and commenting on what these reality stars are doing because we feel like we know them. People also aspire to be them, they watch someone like Kim Kardashian go from no one to a millionaire in fourteen seasons. On Jimmy Fox's podcast, Unscripted and Unprepared, Eli Lehrer, former Bravo exec, says when he saw the first pitch tape of KUWTK he thought, "why would anyone care about three sisters who own a clothing store?" Bravo passed on the project and KUWTK became a household name at E! So it begs the question, what makes a great reality star? I believe that it's people who are unapologetically themselves. The people that want to be stars and know what they're signing up for. They're down to play the game, turn it up for the cameras and put it all out on the table. In the end that's what we're all responding to and why we keep watching because these people aren't holding anything back. In a world where everything feels fake people are just trying to hold on to anything that feels real and that's the truth.
Seeing as how I went from having about thirty-seven cents and this, like, half-shekel thing that I got as change from my deale...umm...medicinal herbs and coca-leaf botanist....to having eleven trillion FarstCoins, and how I’m now a very, very famous marquee celebrity on the internet television show by @bethwheatcraft, I’m pretty much the Kim Kardashian of Steemit.
And as such a prominently useless person, I believe it’s part of my very raison d'être to welcome you to this community.
If you end up loving it here as much as I love it here, then you won’t love it here all that much!
Haha thank you for the warm welcome
