Hello everyone. I'm from Kathmandu, Nepal. Currently working on a scholarship project with a non profitable organisation which helps provide educational scholarships in kind form to the needy kids from isolated villages of Nepal. In my three year journey with this project, I successfully reached out to 1577 kids till date and the numbers are growing every month.
It is very sad to notify you all good people that the drop out rate of students from schools here in Nepal is almost 86%. That means if 100 kids got enrolled in grade 1, by reaching grade 10th only 14 of them remains at school. From my research in these 3 years, I found out the major factor for this drastic facts is poverty. Students are compelled to drop out only because their parent can not afford basic necessities like notebooks, pens, uniforms etc.
We raise funds world wide at the rate of 80$ per kid which helps him/her to stay at school for 1 year in villages of Nepal.

Thank you @originalWorks for your appreciation. I should justify that I'm a total newbie out here in steemit :) . But have heard of it a lot in recent past. Out here in Nepal, we find it difficult to discover new varieties of social networking which might be the reason why guys like me from Nepal are new to these stuffs.
Anyways, world is small, and it does not matter when you start. Its always a good idea to initiate after all.
