RE: No. 2: Blockchain and the Poet

Also, I know Bandcamp well. It is fantastic! I'm going to put my debut album on there for free. Streaming has dominated the mainstream and somewhat conditioned people to expect free music. I'm alright with that, but I would rather go through a site like Bandcamp than Spotify. It just seems - less exploitative. I like the choice! Anyway - thanks for everything - I love Steemit. I think I will have a million questions in the coming weeks - Ill try and limit them! =)

You'll probably cringe, but I'm against IP. Still, I make a point of financially supporting the people who's creations I enjoy. That's one reason I love Bandcamp so much. When a group is loved, I make sure to buy their creations!

No not at all. IP is an arbitrary concept to be honest. Just another form of bureaucracy. I am 100% for sharing and giving people access to what you create. The difficulty I suppose is how to enable somebody to create without restriction. IP does protect some elements of that; but it only favours those who have the financial power to access the legal system. Again, a massive problem.

I think that's why I'm so drawn to the blockchain. I really see something in it in regards to creation. A way for creators to be rewarded but also unrestricted access for all. I suppose that is the ideal!

Bandcamp is awesome - I think that model is also great - I agree. I love the pay what you want function. I think that's a brilliant idea. Inclusive and a great way to share art.
