Giving a shout out to all my new Steemit friends and would like to introduce myself. I was accepted into Steemit at the end of May, but have just recently had the time to start actually being a viable part of the community. I figured an introduction of who I am would be the best way to get my feet wet... as the saying goes.
I am 48 years of age and am currently living in the north of Peru in a little town named Lobitos. I grew up on the east coast of Florida in a town named Jensen Beach. I love Florida and am thankful for my having grown up in the area at the time which I did. In the 70's and 80's Florida was still a quiet place with a hometown feel. I grew up knowing my neighbors and was able to lead a happy and fulfilling life. Activities such as fishing, surfing, diving, and riding motorcycles was standard practice for me in my childhood. I loved going to the beach with my family and having a barbecue and a small bonfire, while enjoying the stars which seemed endless above my head in the night time sky. Unfortunately with the passage of time Florida has changed, and I feel as if not for the better. Where once there were woods to camp and lakes to fish, there are now strip malls and gated communities. Where once we were able to have a small bonfire on the beach and enjoy the stars...now you will be fined or arrested for doing so. Star gazing is almost impossible as well because of all the light pollution which came with over development of the area. Five years ago I was sitting at my kitchen table thinking about this and decided to make a change. I sold my house, my truck, and everything else and decided to move to the northern coast of Peru where I could live the lifestyle with which I grew up with.
I had been to Peru many times and had friends which I trusted whole heartedly. One of those friends and myself decided to build a hotel/bar/restaurant so as to make some money and enjoy life at the same time. I figured the project would take two years and be relatively cheap to accomplish. Five years later we have just finished the first floor and spent much more then expected. With that being said I am as happy as a clam, because my dream is coming true and I am moving forward with the life with which I want to live.
Once again I am able to walk on beaches which are free of houses and no trespassing signs. Once again I am able to enjoy the brilliant stars in the night time without the intrusion of light pollution...and if I choose I can have a small bonfire on the beach free of persecution.
The scenery is quite different here in the north of Peru as well...
I am very excited to be a part of the Steemit community and am looking forward to adding content to the platform. I will be contributing photographs, blogs, videos and everything else which comes to mind. I want all of my fellow steemians to partake and enjoy in the life which we live here in northern Peru. One never knows what the next day will bring while here...but rest assured we will experience all the different moments together. Did I mention that the north of Peru has great surfing?

Welcome nice to have you here , maybe you are lucky to be joining when steem is at a really low price . When price is low less people are posting and you have a better chance to earn steem . I highly recommend you post a lot and keep on posting . Till you get to at least 15 Steem Power. Don’t give up . I don’t recommend you buy Steem Power but I do recommend you post often till you get to 15 Steem Power. If you can not post go ahead and make sure to vote at least 6 times when you wake up and 4 times when you are going to bed . No more and no less.
