Starting on STEEM, you can either get hit the ground running or spend way too much time trying to get noticed, the anarcho-capitalistic atmosphere on STEEM rewards content in its own way, and striking the balance that gets you noticed can be hard.

In STEEM you hold shares, and voting locks an amount of that shares up for a day, these shares are called your voting power and voting power is expressed commonly as a percentage of shares that are available to vote with. Bandwidth is also a factor that affects your STEEM experience, and when you have low bandwidth, as a new user, you have to wait for some to become available before you can continue creating.
