I'm petrified of introducing myself to anyone but here goes!
My name is Alan or Al and I am new to Steemit(sort of). I actually signed up in March 2018 but promptly forgot about it. I am normally one of those, "I don't do Social Media", types. Apart from about 1 year on Facebook, this will be my only real foray in to a Social Media realm.
What to say?
I live in a very small village in North Wales with my partner Samantha, my dog Jimi and my Cat Teg. I work in a very dull office job that drives me crazy, but pays the bills. Maybe some fast facts would help you understand my take on life...

Why did I join Steemit?
I don't know is the honest answer. I saw a video on YouTube of someone talking about it and decided to have a look. The idea of blogging has appealed to me more over the past year and so here I am.
What will I be writing about?
This is still a mystery to me, I think from now on if I find myself with an opinion on something I see/hear/read then I might express that view here on Steemit and see what happens.
I have suffered with Anxiety and Depression in the past few years and I think that may form some of my content. The mental health issues have made me think about topics that I had never thought about before so this may also influence some posts....who knows?
In all honesty the way this works with Steemit dollars is still a bit fuzzy to me and not really what I'm here for, i'm hoping it becomes clearer to me as time and blogs go on.

The official FAQ can be found here and has A LOT of information https://steemit.com/faq.html - Also remember, Steemit is just ONE of the sites built that uses Steem the blockchain. You should also check out DTube and DSound for starters and if you're a gamer, Splinterlands! There are many other cool apps but I can't list them all here, there's just too many! But I'd also like to mention Steempeak, it's a better blogging platform that has a lot of cool features. The latest project you should also check as a new member is a palnet! Welcome to the blockchain! :) Oh, and if you're interested in creating your own tokens or smart contracts, check Steem engine!
Welcome to Steemit, I didn't consider myself a blogger and not sure I am even now but I do love the sense of community on here and I hope you find the same its a bit of a learning curve at the start but worth it I believe :)
PS I am a Kiwi all be it living in the States but still a Rugby Fan, are you and will you be watching the World Cup
Hello there,
I do watch rugby when its on. I usually watch a bit of the Six Nations up here in the Northern Hemisphere. I'm hoping Wales can put a bit of a run together this year and get close to winning the title, they played well to win the Six Nations this year which hopefully go some way to helping us to the world cup.
I dont get to see much Rugby her ein the States, but I will pay to watch the World Cup, they have not announced how much it is going to be but I will go for it anyway
yes Wales did brilliant this year in the 6 nations the clean sweep wasnt it, I would love a final of Either wales or Ireland against NZ for the final :)
Who knows, we might get that.
there should be some great games to watch whichever way it goes
I hope its a successful tournament for the sake of Japan. I think rugby is growing in popularity over there and an international event could really boost it further.
I hope the same, Japan could well be the dark horse of the tournament, with the home crowd support and the flare they have when they play
