How to Introduce a traveler?

With a track record of the countries visited, variety and diversity of experiences, size of the photo album or that special feeling of excitement before every departure to a new destination? There is a recently published theory about the existence of the ‘wanderlust gene’ which is making some people extraordinary curious, restless and natural born travellers. Be it only a genetic push factor or pull by the magnificence of the world, travelling is an essential part of our living, our weeks, months and yearly plans. Being European, I was fascinated and blessed with the diversity of the countries, cultures, people and history I am surrounded with. I had the urge to explore every part of it, not letting any stone unturned. I proudly ticked my 28th member state of the European Union this year, but still returning to some of my favourite places in Europe over and over again. On the way, I met my partner, best friend and fellow traveller, lost in the wonders of his own world travels. We crossed our paths in Belgium, in the very centre of our continent, and since then we started sharing both our lives and travels. As an international couple, our insights and travel experiences often show a mixture of perspectives and opinions, some that we brought from our home countries (Croatia and Chile) and some we formed with time and in places we’ve lived.

Being very thorough in nature and detail oriented, we prepare our travels and do our share of research and exploration before we reach our destinations. We rely on other people’s advice and experience trough blogs, reviews and recommendations, which help us both not to skip a great location or to skip a lengthy waiting line. Grateful of having the privilege of insight in their travels, we decided to give something in return. We want to share our private travel experiences and help out our fellow travellers to make the best of their visits. We will show you places we visited, things we liked, food we tried and experiences we had on our trips. As photography enthusiasts (equipped with a number of tech devices), our focus is primarily on specific arts, architecture and cultural heritage, but we also always visit key sights on every destination. Being as well foodies, we always try the local cuisine and delicacies. On almost all of our trips we try to get along with the locals, because there is no better way to get to know a place then to glimpse into its local life. We are lucky that our professional lives put us in contact with people from every corner of the world, or at least Europe, so we can anyway count on hospitality of friends who will show us the best of their hometowns and introduce us to hidden secrets of every destination.

So far, we pretty much scratched the map of Europe, planning to emerge on longer trips, but still using every available weekend to revisit the diverse beauty of our neighbourhood. We will share with you our impressions and information about key European destinations and EU capitals, but also from less typical places, like the islands of Malta, Cyprus and Iceland. When we are not ‘seriously’ travelling abroad, we will present to you our closest neighbourhood, the Benelux and its cities and towns worth visiting, especially Bruxelles and its amazing culinary scene.
So, the question remains, how to introduce a traveller? Best way to get to know one is to join him on his travels, because by sharing a travel you share a happy, exciting and special part of yourself that defines who you are, as a traveller but also as a person. You are welcome to join us.
First stop – Iceland.
