Welcome Lee we're a Vancouver based podcast ourselves so pretty close. Steem grows in tandem by two big things. Making and uploading great content (videos, articles, photos etc)and then curating other great content you find. The more upvotes you help projects get the more they earn and in turn the more other people will want to vote for them. So it's best to concentrate on what you're great at and then convert your earnings for the first while into power up Steem to increase the amount you can help others.
