Why is Nepal so poor ?

Just trying to add perspective here. But, even if it would be quite an economic boost if foreign companies set their factories here, there is a scenario where it actually might be a good thing that they aren’t. If you see the type of bureaucratic and authoritarian ways in which these companies operate, it’s actually a relief that they haven’t set factories here. They would buy off native lands for shit-loads of money to build their factories, and employ the now-helpless people who were living there. The government would probably offer them a joke for compensation, and sooner or later it won’t even be a concern. The excuse would be that the foreign companies are offering them with jobs, which is actually good for the employment rate. But they conceal the fact that they were deprived from their land, in which they would have made a modest living through farming or something else. We know why these foreign companies outsource labour, it’s because the minimum wage here is low compared to where these companies are based, and as a third world country, these MNCs get to suppress us. Increase in profit and control. It’s actually very coercive in nature. The workers would end up overworking in brutal conditions with minimal pay. I mean sure, it would be an economic incline but at the expense of troubling inconveniences for the people who are working there. If you actually deconstruct the economical layers and look at the human cost, it’s disturbingly painful.

But like I said, just adding a perspective.

What do you think the government of Nepal should do to break poverty and modernize the country? Is there any chance that the native companies can expand more or is there maybe problem with finding qualified people for that, have hear that many Nepalese with education flee that country to seek better employments elsewhere.
I agree with you that there are unfortunately many bad companies out there that exploit people.
