Hi there! So this is me, your friendly neighbourhood-metalhead-viking who will raid your (bar)fridge and pillage your pantry. I am from (very) sunny South Africa and work as an electrician during the day. Like all vikings, I covet treasure and riches and regularly hatch cunning plans to get them (and usually fail). Before you ask, Sigrfolkr is Old Icelandic Norse and means "victory people", which is a rough translation of the meaning of my actual first name.
I am addicted to nicotine (I vape), caffeine (between 4 and many mugs a day), endorphins and, possibly, porn. I like history (especially military), all kinds of military weapons and vehicles, various forms of wargaming (tabletop and electronic), heavy metal music, my wife, my children (mostly), my pets (1 cat, 2 tarantulas, 1 baboon spider, 1 trapdoor spider and a scorpion), sci-fi and fantasy stuff, being lazy, and some things I forgot to mention here.
Although I am unsure what I am going to do on Steemit (for now), I do plan on supporting this platform (which is possibly one of the best ideas since the invention of viking raids) by supporting the content I find to be worth supporting.
Welcome viking sir. May you enjoy your pillaging!
Welcome, your pillaging and wargaming skills are exactly what steemit needed. Now we are next level.
be welcome :)
Welcome mate :)
It's been a while since I found a metal album that I liked. The sound just became too commercial. What current bands would you recommend listening to?
Unleash the Archers (Apex is a masterpiece), Kreator's Gods of Violence, Apocalypse Orchestra, Powerwolf, Wolfchant, Heidefolk, Draconian, Amon Amarth, Alestorm, Wolfheart, Diablo Swing Orchestra, Equilibrium, KOBUS, Legion of the Damned, Mastodon, Primordial, Rotting Christ, Saxon, The Samans, and Metallica's Hardwired to Self Destruct (yes I just went there, I namedropped Tallica and I really don't care what you think about them, because I am total fanboy).
OMG! I can't believe that Kreator are still around! Coma Of Souls is what got me into metal in the first place.
Believe! They are still the undisputed gods of thrash

You are DA MAN sir! Loved your introductory post , your going to do great! I'm keeping my👀 on you!!!😜
Welcome to Steemit <3 if you don't mind, I will keep a healthy distance from your spiders. But other than that I followed you. Have a wonderful day.
I am actually arachnophobic lol.
LOL I like them just fine when I was younger and then a couple of years ago I've got bit by a little brown spider while I was sleeping that I had seen scurrying around in my room a day or so before. It left me for little holes in my side that didn't heal for two weeks and I scratched like a mofo! Ever since then every spider is suspect.
That was a Brown Recluse. Know your spiders and it could save your life. My big Tarantula has fangs more than half an inch long so getting bitten by him will be unpleasant...
He was pretty small & I did heal, unlike some who have persistent wounds so I had no idea it may be a recluse. Ugh.
Yeah, don't get bit!
The persistent wounds actually depends on how you treat the bite and your immune system. I got bit by a sack spider (also tissue destroyer venom) on my hand once and I only got a tiny scar (super immune system)
I guess we were both lucky then. I won't be owning any spiders haha
