Hola soy Carla, me pueden decir lala, agradecida y emocionada por la oportunidad de compartir mi historia, aprendizajes y ocios con ustedes.

Si me hubieran dicho hace algunos años que mi vida daría un giro de 180 grados, probablemente me habría reído y seguido con mi día. Pero aquí estoy, contándote cómo pasé de ser "solo" una profesional enfocada en números a descubrir un propósito que jamás imaginé.

Soy Lala Silveira, venezolana viviendo en Colombia. ¿Por qué me mudé? Bueno, la vida tiene esa forma peculiar de ponerte a prueba cuando menos lo esperas. Migré buscando una mejor calidad de vida para mis tres hijos (Ignacio, Isabella e Ian) y, sobre todo, atención médica especializada para Ignacio, mi hijo mayor, quien vive con una enfermedad rara llamada Síndrome de Cornelia de Lange. No fue fácil dejar atrás mi hogar, pero ¿sabes qué? A veces, el mayor acto de amor es justamente ese salto al vacío con la esperanza de construir algo mejor.

Detrás de mis títulos (soy Contadora Pública con maestría en Gerencia Tributaria y más de 18 años de experiencia en el mundo administrativo, contable y tributario) hay una historia que no cabe en ningún currículum: la de una mujer que aprendió a reconstruirse una y otra vez. Porque la vida real no viene con instructivos, ¿verdad?

If you had told me a few years ago that my life would take a 180 degree turn, I probably would have laughed and gone on with my day. But here I am, telling you how I went from being "just" a professional focused on numbers to discovering a purpose I never imagined.

I am Lala Silveira, Venezuelan living in Colombia. Why did I move? Well, life has that peculiar way of testing you when you least expect it. I migrated looking for a better quality of life for my three children (Ignacio, Isabella and Ian) and, above all, specialized medical care for Ignacio, my eldest son, who lives with a rare disease called Cornelia de Lange Syndrome. It wasn't easy leaving home behind, but you know what? Sometimes, the greatest act of love is precisely that leap into the void with the hope of building something better.

Behind my titles (I am a Public Accountant with a master's degree in Tax Management and more than 18 years of experience in the administrative, accounting and tax world) there is a story that does not fit in any resume: that of a woman who learned to rebuild herself over and over again. time. Because real life doesn't come with instructions, right?

Cuando Ignacio nació, mi mundo se volcó. De repente, las prioridades cambiaron: de pensar en informes y auditorías, pasé a aprender sobre terapias, cuidados especializados y cómo ser la mejor cuidadora 24/7 para él. ¿Perfecta? Para nada. Hubo días de llanto silencioso en la ducha y otros de risas que llenaban la casa. Porque así es la vida: un sube y baja emocional donde, entre caídas, también descubres la fuerza que ni sabías que tenías.

Ser madre y cuidadora me transformó. Me enseñó que el amor verdadero es ese que no se mide en logros grandiosos, sino en pequeñas victorias diarias: una palabra nueva, una sonrisa inesperada, un "mami" dicho con esfuerzo. Cada uno de esos momentos es un faro de esperanza que ilumina incluso los días más nublados.

Mi experiencia personal no se quedó solo en casa. Sentí la necesidad y el llamado de alzar la voz por quienes no pueden hacerlo. Así me convertí en activista social, colaborando con ONG nacionales e internacionales para sensibilizar sobre las invisibles enfermedades raras, defender los derechos de personas con dependencia funcional o discapacidad y apoyar a sus familias y cuidadores.

When Ignacio was born, my world turned upside down. Suddenly, priorities changed: from thinking about reports and audits, I went to learning about therapies, specialized care, and how to be the best 24/7 caregiver for him. Perfect? Not at all. There were days of silent crying in the shower and others of laughter that filled the house. Because that's life: an emotional ups and downs where, between falls, you also discover the strength you didn't even know you had.

Being a mother and caregiver transformed me. He taught me that true love is that which is not measured in grandiose achievements, but in small daily victories: a new word, an unexpected smile, a "mommy" said with effort. Each of those moments is a beacon of hope that illuminates even the cloudiest days.

My personal experience didn't just stop at home. I felt the need and the call to raise my voice for those who cannot do so. This is how I became a social activist, collaborating with national and international NGOs to raise awareness about invisible rare diseases, defend the rights of people with functional dependence or disabilities and support their families and caregivers.

No, no tengo un "manual del liderazgo". Lo que tengo es un compromiso genuino, el que nace de vivirlo en carne propia. Mi liderazgo no se mide por diplomas, sino por cada historia que he tocado comenzando por la mía, y cada red de apoyo que he ayudado a construir.

No sé rendirme, incluso cuando el camino se vuelve cuesta arriba. Descubrí que la empatía no es algo que se activa de vez en cuando; En mí, siempre está presente. No se trata solo de entender, sino de estar ahí, de verdad, inspirando cambios reales, no solo con palabras bonitas.

Cada día trato de encontrar a la emprendedora equilibrio entre ser madre, profesional, y activista, sin perder el norte y, sobre todo, sin dejar de ser fiel a quien soy, incluso si eso significa ir contra la corriente. ¿Sola? Ni siquiera lo intento. Dios es mi compañero fiel; sin Él, nada sería posible. Crecer tiene más sentido cuando lo haces con Él, para Él y al servicio de Él. Es quien me recarga cada día con el ingrediente secreto de todo lo que hago: el amor incondicional.

Mi historia no es solo mía. Es de cada persona que, como tú, busca inspiración, fortaleza o simplemente una voz que le diga: "No estás sola". Si sientes que esta historia resuena contigo, si quieres construir redes de apoyo o simplemente compartir un pedacito de tu propio camino, aquí estoy.

No, I don't have a "leadership manual." What I have is a genuine commitment, which comes from living it firsthand. My leadership is not measured by diplomas, but by every story I have touched, starting with my own, and every support network I have helped build.

Every day I try to find the entrepreneurial balance between being a mother, professional, and activist, without losing my bearings and, above all, without ceasing to be faithful to who I am, even if that means going against the grain. Alone? I don't even try. God is my faithful companion; Without Him, nothing would be possible. Growing makes more sense when you do it with Him, for Him and in the service of Him. He is the one who recharges me every day with the secret ingredient of everything I do: unconditional love.
