Hey Steemit Community! My name is Jonathan and it’s time to introduce myself.
This is actually my second steemit post. I just went straight into creating content once I learned what steemit is. I had a friend tell me about cryptocurrency a few months ago now. It sounded interesting but I didn’t really understand what he was talking about. But I had heard enough that I wanted to do some research. I quickly became somewhat obsesses with crypto’s and blockchain technology, and then fell upon steemit. I immediately made an account and created a blog post (check it out by clicking the link below). Only realizing shortly after, that I should’ve posted an introduction first! I am sooooo excited about the potential impact steemit is going to have on the world.
First Blog Post: “How Shoes Do WAY MORE HARM than GOOD”

I am a personal trainer and owner of Jonathan’s Private Training Studio, LLC in Dallas, TX. I have been a personal trainer for over 5 years now and successfully opened my studio in April of 2014. My goal is to bring a MOVERS perspective to the steemit community. Most of the fitness community is focused on things like lifting weights and machines when it comes to exercise. But I have very different perspective on fitness and movement. The simplest way I can put it is by giving a comparison:
You are always better off practicing movement without restriction. Practicing total body movements, will be more beneficial to your life, than any machine ever will be. Calisthenics over weights. Check out the video below on my “Philosophy of Movement” for a much better, and much more in depth explanation. I’ll definitely be writing a full blog post on it in the future.
Movement Philosophy Video
Luckily for me, I love movement, and I get to teach it for a living. Which also means that I am constantly MOVING! I love playing and practicing different types of movements with my friends. I’ve done everything from pole dancing class, to rock climbing, to trail running, yoga, if you named pretty much any kind of movement discipline; I've probably done it.
Outside of movement, I love to learn new things. I am literally always ingesting new information, which is how I discovered Steemit in the first place! And I think that literally all stems from a vocabulary test I had in junior high. I remember the word;
Renaissance Man- a person with many talents or areas of knowledge
The way my teacher described it, a Renaissance Man was good at EVERYTHING. And I remember immediately thinking, that’s me. I’m going to be the best at everything, and I’m going to learn how to do everything.
I started teaching myself carpentry and playing around with acrylic paints about 2 years ago. Now woodworking is one of my favorite disciplines I practice (discipline sounds so much cooler than hobby doesn't it? Got that from Nate Offerman). I’ve built all of the tables in my apartment, along with a wood peg board and barbell rack for my studio. Also, most of the artwork hanging in my apartment I've painted myself. I don’t consider myself a great artist by any stretch, but I love having my own art that I’ve created hanging on the wall. It just makes my home more me. That and I’m just the type that wants to do things myself.
I also love to travel! I know, who doesn’t right? However, I’ve been doing a lot more traveling recently. I’ve been to Guatemala, Costa Rica, Los Angeles, Seattle, Portland, and Mexico this year already. And I am SUPER EXCITED about my upcoming camping trip in Washington to catch the solar eclipse that’s happening in August with two of my closest friends!
I also held my first “Goal Setting Workshop” this year. My goal in life is to help people become more than what they think they are capable of. I want to help people in all areas of life; fitness, health, movement, nutrition, goal setting, positive thinking, relationships, and more.
So that’s me guys. I’m stoked to be apart of this community and look forward to creating content that can help benefit anybody improve their lives. So are there any subject or questions any of y’all would be interested in reading about in the health, fitness, and nutrition realm?
