Greetings all,
I got off to a great start with my introduction late last night, as can be seen in the chronological discrepancy between the "steemit" poster in my photo and today's date. Looking at the photo, I can see I am definitely me and when I weigh up the rest of the world, quite frankly, I would not have it any other way.
I took the selfie (unusual for me) late last night and then retired to bed to complete my intro. I am rather relieved that I was not actually browsing an online retailer when I drifted off to sleep, who knows what I might have unwittingly purchased with a "one click ordering" slip of the finger across the touch screen!
Briefly, I am retired and live in West Cumbria where, apart from a bit of gardening, photography and trying to maintain the weight loss I have achieved in the past two years, my main interest is music. I play pedal steel guitar (as pictured), Dobro (resophonic), and conventional guitar.
I look forward to being a part of the steemit community and will be taking part in the open mic events in the near future. I will probably also post some bits and pieces about the pedal steel guitar which is still an enigma to most people. It has been called a number of things including an organ/keyboard, a knitting machine and a Black & Decker workmate (remember those? I still have mine).
Anyway, as I said, this is the short version of me and I have a dental appointment 😕 this morning so that's it for now.
p.s. Do dentists only ever look down in the mouth? 😉

Hi there, yes, actually I became besotted by the pedal steel 35 years ago and it's still a mystery at times, so people who are unfamiliar with the instrument are very often more than a little intrigued.
