Bounty Platform - get paid in Steem (amongst other methods)

in #introduceyourself7 years ago (edited)

Introducing you to 'Bounty'. It is not ready for public viewing just yet, but I thought I would introduce it to you anyhow. Bounty is similar to Kickstarter but with some major differences.

  1. You will be able to fund ideas you like with steem (and other cryptocurrencies)
  2. You will be able to support just the ideas of a project you like rather than the whole project.

Point 2 needs a little explaining, so let me give you an example. I am currently programming Bounty and have a number of tasks that still need to be done. I will publish these tasks along with a budget needed to get them done, once they have been funded then I will start working on that task. So, for example I might have 2 tasks that are similar, for example login with Facebook and login with google. If you would like the login with Facebook feature then you could send funds to get this developed first.

This also means that you can see the progress of the project. It incentivises the developer to deliver quickly to get more funding for up and coming tasks. You are not going to fund me more money if I did not complete the first tasks right?

Anyone will be able to add a project and publish it to get funding to support them. Later on I will be allowing developers to bid on the tasks. This will mean the cost of the development is likely to reduce as developers outbid each other. So, what do you think?

Do you have projects that you would like to get funded in this manner?

Steem on!

I got my idea ready. A free universally usable, good looking and feeling and user friendly operating system based on freedos or bsd or no mather what, that frees us from mac, win, lin (but that -if you want to- allows you to virually run those 3).

Sounds like a great idea.. why do you not like linux though?

Tried a lot of distro's Suse Mint Arch etc etc, but they are all a pain in the ass to use and they all look awful compared to Mac or Win.
If Lin were so good, then why is it's acceptance soooo low, despite win being extremely ennoying spam and spyware.
A couple of weeks ago I tried to install another Linux distro, didn't like it and had to reformat the harddisk and do a complete reinstall of my win 7 ultimate to make it work again. So lin is a big no for me.
Only Unix based BSD, that is run by an independent group of developers and does not depend on dictator Linus is easy to install for a noob.
Freedos is also cool if you like old skool DOS.
Ideally I would look for a completely hackproof OS that is written on a ROM so your pc can startup just as fast as when you turn on your radio and that never doesn't need any update at all, unless new codecs and connectors and devices come out, whereby you would just replace the old ROM with a new one.
Can't be so difficult to do for a bunch of motivated hackers/coders imo.

Unfortunately. Mac OSX is tied to the devices they are sold on. And Windoze is shipped with just about every pc / laptop sold.. Unfortunately this is marketing dollars at work.

You are right that linux distros typically ship with a gnome or kde theme that clones many features of windows and mac.. but that is for familiarity. I have seen first time users using linux without knowing they were not on windows.. this is a good thing to get acceptance.

Don't be afraid to run with your ideas.. forward thinkers are the ones that change the world!
