I just joined Steemit today. I am kind of confused on how the payout is related to the number of upvotes. That's why I am trying this experiment. As in the title, I will upvote 2 posts of yours for everyone who upvotes this post. Feel free to let me know if you have some suggestions!

More upvotes means more money in general, additionally the more STEEM POWER your upvoters have the more money you gain again, also the more STEEM POWER you yourself have the more money you get from upvotes.
So you want a lot of high SP voters + you need high SP yourself.

Not really a system problem, but many people have low SP hence their vote contributes very little. In addition if the poster also has low SP hence the votes count even less.
i guess some people see this as a flaw in the system but in reality it is very difficult to make a better systems without opening it to bot exploitation.
This isn't the purpose of Steemit. May I suggest you upvote good content in order to improve the platform and contribute content in the form of posts or replies to get upvotes?
It's interesting to game a system by doing that, but it won't work as there will be people interested in the long term, who will flag (downvote) your post.

Doesn't works that way my friend. We can UPVOTES each other all day long. We gets nothing.
My UPVOTES only work at people that have Higher SP.
If I UPVOTES a whale , they will get $0.50 to $15 from me. But the other way around.

They put lotsa $$$ in it, buying the STEEM Powers.
One account I notice can do over $150 per upvote.
That account rarely do the upvoting.
Many can do like $0.20 to $1.00 but depending if they power up.
You need to gain their influence.
