Howdee Y'all!

I am Strypes on most forums. If I can't be "Strypes" then I am "Strypeyone".

How I got that name is significant to me and I don't share the reason much on forums such as this one because so many would ridicule it and it is kinda that "don't cast your pearls before swine" thing "lest they turn and attack you". I am not calling anyone here "swine" but I have been verbally attacked online on many occasions.

You may guess that "Strypes" is taken from Isaiah 53:5. I have experienced divine healing. God healed me in a very unusual way. Through that experience I learned that God Is bigger than any problem I have and that He provides what I need.

The year was about 1997. It was the year after I filed for divorce from my soon to be ex-husband. My daughter was about 5 years old. My ex had removed me from the health insurance even though the divorce was not final until the following February. I was working a minimum wage job and had very little money. It was summer time and I got an ear infection from our community swimming pool.

Trying to make a long story short, I suffered for about a month and could no longer stand the pain. My paycheck that week was $86.00 and I paid $85.00 to go to the doctor. He prescribed three medications. One was a antibiotic. One was a pain medication. The other was some ear drops. The cost for the three medications was over $200.00. Then I was to come back three days later to have a procedure done that would literally suck the pus out of my ear. That second appointment would be another $85.00 Doctor visit plus an additional $150.00 for the procedure. I had ONE DOLLAR to my name and another two weeks till I would be paid again.

It was a really bad ear infection and my head was swollen so bad you could touch my face and feel the pus move. It was really gross and extremely painful.

I didn't have insurance and I was working at Hardee's. Money was one thing I didn't have. For over a month I had been in real bad pain. When I finally made an appointment to see the doctor, I was depleted financially due to missed work days from calling in sick.

I barely had the initial 85 dollar office visit fee and it took my whole pay check save one dollar. I had no means at all for the others. I had no provision for the prescriptions, no provision for another office visit and no provision for the required procedure.

I prayed and asked God to help me and the Holy Spirit spoke to my spirit and asked me, "What does my word say?". I knew that the bible in the Book of James says that if anyone be sick they should call the elders and have them pray etc. I told God that I didn't think the elders at the church I was going to at that time had the faith to pray such a prayer. The Holy Spirit then ask me who I would consider an "elder" to me and I could think of only one person, a college professor named Dr.Jerome Smith.

In my spirit I remembered a man I had known fifteen years earlier. His name is Dr Jerome Smith. He is a Dr of Divinity. He was my college professor at Truett McConnell College. He is not a tall man. I nick named him "DR. J." in 1980. It stuck.

Of all the people I had known in my life, he was the one that taught me the most about God. I had not had any contact with him in over 15 years.

I looked in my personal phone book and low and behold I had his phone number. His wife answered and she remembered me and said she would have him call. Even-though they had moved, they still had the same phone number!

Dr. J. called me back and he prayed for me over the phone. We talked for a little while and I learned that he was no longer a college professor but was now a missionary. I thanked him and we said goodbye.

There was no rush of wind or glow from heaven and no immediate healing. I had done what the word of God said. I had done my best to be obedient. I was trusting God to honor His word.

I went outside and was picking up a board that was on a wishing well I had in the yard and a yellow jacket rose up from the wishing well like a helicopter and looked me dead in the eye. I RAN!!

The yellow jacket and a buddy of his caught me! (yellow jackets are strypey) One stung me on the tip top of my ear and the other stung me behind my ear.

The first thought I had was "insult to injury" but then the Holy Spirit said "NO!, This is from me". A peace flooded my soul. It hurt. It hurt real bad, but I had peace.

I was sitting in my living room and my neighbor Maggie Hunter came over and got the stingers out. I went to bed that night still in pain from the stings and the ear ache. I woke up the next morning and my head was back to original size and ear ache totally healed.

I didn't need the hundreds of dollars for medicines or office visits and procedures. I needed to act on the word of God! And have faith. Tiz true.

There is more to this story of how God used my story to be a witness to neighbors at the very same community swimming pool several years later. They didn't believe me. Maggie was on the far side of the deck laying down on a towel and she sat up and said, "It is true. I took the stingers out".

There is also the vision of a clown named Strypes and a clown named Strypes!! God used that experience as a clown to bring me to a place of inner healing.

God healed me!! He did it in very unique ways. Then He used me in some awesome and sometimes painful ways to help others online and in my own back yard.
