You are young and most likely a product of the government education system which was designed to teach you to conform not educate you. Before you go and make a life altering decision like joining the military you need to look at why the US has been involved in so many wars and what the motive was behind those wars .
If you do the research and don't rely on what you might might have been taught in your previous history classes what you will find will open your eyes and change your perspective.
It is commendable that you may be willing to put your life on the line for your country, but you owe it to yourself to know what in fact you will be risking your life for and it is not freedom and protecting the country.
Don't be an expendable pawn in the government's chess game known as war without being fully informed.
