Happy new year, Steemit!

This was taken last night during the countdown party to 2018. Location: Z Hostel Roofdeck Bar, Poblacion, Makati

I thought of introducing myself on New Year's day because like everyone else, it's a good time for a new beginning.

My name is Tala, a Tagalog word for "Star". It's a nickname that I only got in college and I always have to explain how I got it everytime I introduce myself, because it's not a part of my real name. By the way, I used to go by "Tin/Tina".

So "Tala" was from the Filipino TV series "Krystala" which was aired on 2004 and was starred by Judy Ann "Juday" Santos, a famous actress in the Philippines. If you're familiar with that series, well you might already have a good idea why I got it. If not, here's a photo.

But hey, I found my (used to be) chubby cheeks cute then. So, I really don't understand why my friends found it funny. Maybe I'll try to talk about this more in another post.

Anyway, fast forward to present, I have been working in a Bank, for almost a decade now, but I still dont feel like this is already my "dream job." I want to do something else, but I don't know what that something is. I know, "it's a toughie." Most people would think that working in the same industry for almost a decade would mean you're already secured or contented at what you do, that it you would retire in that job/industry already. But for me, I'm not quite sure.

And so at times when I'm not sure, which is so often than not, I would always run to the comfort of my long time friend/lover....any guesses?

Yep, you got it right...the BEER.

I made a cover for Steemit, adapted from the famous brand of beers in the Philippines, San Miguel. 😅🍻

Mind you though, I'm not an ALCOHOLIC. I believe that a bottle of beer or two once in a while (Or ever other day. Just kidding!) is not that bad. In fact, I read in some health magazines that a bottle of beer or a glass of wine a day is actually good for your health. I think most people would agree, don't you think?

Okay fine, alright.

Sometimes I do lose count of my alcohol intakes on some occassions. And that's when my love-hate relationship with BEERS come in. I really hate hangovers and sometimes I'd even swear to God that I'm not having anymore beers after.

This was me last night after a (can't remember) number of beers 🍻😂🍻

But of course, as always, I come running back to its arms when I'm over the hangover, when I'm so happy like everything's just going well, or when hell-days just come in knocking you down on the floor again, ugh.

I also have this flirty relationship with TRAVEL. I try to travel once in a while just when the BEER can't do its job alone in making me feel better. During these travel times, I would sometimes dream of being a travel blogger. So I try my best with all my heart to take "blogger photos". I try, I'm trying, I REALLY DO. Sadly, photography, is not for me, just like how I tried in SINGING and DANCING.

Here's some snaps from my travels. The beach is my favorite place and sunsets and sunrises soothes my battered soul.

Oh, and before I forget, just like how I tried in Stock Trading.

Well actually, I thought I was nailing Stock Trading in the beginning. But I think it was only a BEGINNERS LUCK.

Well anyway, that's me. A bored banker, looking for something I'm not sure of, trying my luck in trading, ending most of my days in the loving arms of beers and flirting with travel once in a while.

Im here because I wanna try something new. I might even find what Im looking for here.
