My very 1st post.. Yeay! 😆 (exhaling)... Okay, here goes nothing.
Hi, Syam here. A former animation student at ______ University (hahaha) & now doing graphic design (huh? what~) & sometimes illustration.
If you guys are wondering what exactly this post is about... Well.. I am going to talk (like doing a review) about 'Kimi no Na Wa (Your Name) Blu-Ray Collector's Edition'.
I posted a very short video (like 1min 😑) & a simple write-up on Instagram 😅 last year about this item. So here, I'm going to go a bit more details (hope it's okay) on the item.
I saw this box set on the internet & instantly fell in love with it~ (Of course I already watched the movie before that... duh~ Although I don't read or understand Japanese/kanji... I don't care. I want this sooo very badly 😅)
Anywho, here a sneak peak of the stuff inside this box set.

The font:

A very simple & clean (too clean I must say... minimalist perhaps? haha 😂) design, without any art or graphic. It came with a bookmark -that blue piece- (It's some sorta film cell of the scene when the 2 leads met on top of the crater/mountain of Itomori Town [fun fact: the town was inspired by a volcanic island; Aogashima & it's quit difficult to get there because of its remote location]. I haven't open it though...hahaha~😅)

The side:

Now you can see there are 3 parts inside; the BD box, pocket edition script & a 100 pages booklet (character design, backgrounds, sketches etc)
This is one thick box! Hella box set! (Again that unopened bookmark.. hehe why was it still there? 🤔)

The back:

Now there it is! The back cover. A couple of scenes from the movie & details of the content (I can't read it 😅).

Pre-Production Materials (Rough board, sketches etc) Whooops.. That's the early scene over there~ 😂 (early draft by the production team) Cool & really interesting to look at (even better if I can read it.. haha)

It's kinda Doctor Who thingy where there is a certain 'temporal rift' happened that allows them to meet because of the distortion in space time continuum & you can kinda be there but not there sorta stuff at a certain time. Spoiler 😝 (Move along~)

(Finally) The Box Art:

Newly illustrated 6-sided (yes.. 6! Because it consist of 5 BD) digipak. It folded nicely as if the character kinda interact through the illustration.

Oh, before that.. It also includes a (chibi) character sticker

It's actually 3 ft long. How the layout matches the folding part to create interaction & continuation of the scene still amaze me till now! (Really well done~)
