Welcome to Steemit! Journalism...ah, I feel ya :) But wow! Your mother was there at the strikes! I was a child then, but I believe it's my first memory of the news that I have. I was in awe at what these people were doing, even though I understood only half of it. I think that, and the troubles in Ireland was what eventually sparked my interest in journalism. So it's so cool that your mother was a part of that...together with Lech Walesa. :) I'm looking forward to read more from you!

Wow! sounds like you do lead quite the examined life already.
Areal work is so cool to watch! I used to do tech work for Cirque Du Soleil down in Orlando, and we had some of the best silk arealists out there. I got to spend a fair amount of time watching them practice since I ran the automation on the silk lines, and they did some truly amazing stuff, especially when they were "just screwing around".
I hope you enjoy Steem! Stick with it and you will be rewarded! And make sure to get on Discord and connect with other people in chat. There are some really cool groups out there!

I can't think of anyone else I've met on Steemit who has had an actual journalistic career before coming here (there may've been some, but I haven't met them). There are plenty of investigative journalist wannabes though (raises hand).

hahaha no one besides @lifesacircus has THAT much energy! though i have always been a pretty energetic person. i hate sitting still for tpp long. even watching movies gives me anxiety sometimes! when i was a kid my parents would let me out into the backyard to run laps and let pff excess energy like a dog, haha.
