Hello Fellow Steemians

I wanted to say hi, introduce myself and thank you all for welcoming me so warmly into your community. I joined Steemit 3 days ago, and it has been so fun getting to know people and reading so many interesting posts. I am really looking forward to spending my coffee and cookie time browsing and connecting with you (because let's be real with 2 small kids that is the only me time in my day-and I don't mind that!)

I moved to America about 3.5 years ago from England. It was a big transition moving from a small town in mild England to the Arizona desert! My favourite thing about America is that there are so many random foods to try, each trip to the grocery store is an adventure! From cheese that sprays out of a can, to deep fried butter at the fair every meal is an adventure. I would love to hear your recommendations on foods I HAVE to try next!

I also love the beautiful scenery here, and enjoy seeing mountains and cacti everywhere. I was a the Arizona Sonoran Desert Museum last year and saw the most beautiful Flowering Firework Cactus, I happened to be there the one day of the year it flowered. It was stunning! After commenting upon my accent, most people then ask me how I find the 110 degree Summers! Honestly I don't mind the heat too much. It is dry which doesn't mess with my hair, and everywhere here is so well equipped to deal with it.

Some of you might have met my husband @getonthetrain at Steemfest in Lisbon. I met him 9 years ago and he is the reason I moved over the pond! We have two beautiful children and one day will get that puppy I keep asking for ;) Before I moved to America I was a teacher for 5 years, I had classes of 30 5-6 year olds and we had so much fun. I am excited that my little girl is now 2.5 and we can start to do more crafts and have adventures too.

I am now a stay at home Mum, housewife and an independent fashion retailer for LuLaRoe clothing. My days are full of laughter and we leave a whirlwind of destruction in our wake...that I have to tidy up at bedtime! If I have 5 minutes to myself I love to read and craft. I am a bit of a collector of projects and am currently working on sewing a quilt, crocheting a turtle blanket and making scrapbooks for my kids.

I would love to get to know you too, feel free to say hi in the comments :)

Welcome to Steemit! Hope you have a good time here :) I'd love to know more about your fashion retailer work and how you're adapting in America, I also moved to the Netherlands and it's been a nice journey. All the best!

Hey, I'm so sorry I just saw this :) Where did you move to the Netherlands from? How did you find it? I will write a post about my fashion retailer job very soon, I'm excited you would like to hear about it. I thought moving to America would be easy as we speak the same language, but it has been challenging in places! I miss my family and friends, but I am enjoying exploring a new place.

Yay! Great to "meet" you outside of your Hello Fresh posts! Welcome to America, welcome to Steemit - I'm glad you are here!

Thank you :) I like your Daily Covenant. I will check back in tomorrow for more.

Thank you for appreciating it @thriftymum
Bless you!

Welcome to the crazy world of Steemit! There's a lot of really neat ideas to be found and shared here, and it's a really unique platform. I mainly live in the "homesteading corner" out here, and it is chock-full of thrifty ideas.

Also, as a former teacher-turned-mom and homemaker/homesteader, I enjoy finding others who have made similar choices, haha! I taught middle school most recently, and while I enjoyed it, I wouldn't trade teaching other peoples' children over my own, now!

Finally...that cactus is GORGEOUS.

We love to learn through play, but my kids aren't of schook age yet. I miss teaching and would like to return to it one day, though I do have some friends who homeschool and I love the idea of the freedom.

I like the uniqueness of steemit. I have been reading about peoples adventures in life and drawing inspiration.

It really was breathtaking. A lot of people here complain about the desert, but there is beauty all around if you stop and look 💗
