Hello to all this prestigious community of Steemit, I am very excited to allow myself to be part of this huge and avant-garde social network, I thank everyone for the warm welcome and receptivity that I have received in this medium, there are very kind and especially very talented people who share quality content, people who support the skills and encourage others to develop them, just as you wish to make my small and humble contribution so that this whole society continues to grow. Hola a toda esta prestigiosa comunidad de Steemit, estoy muy entusiasmado por permitirme formar parte de esta enorme y vanguardista red social, agradezco a todos por la calurosa bienvenida y receptividad que he recibido en este medio, hay personas muy amables y sobre todo muy talentosas que comparten contenido de calidad, personas que apoyan las habilidades e incentivan a otros a desarrollarlas, al igual que ustedes deseo aportar mi pequeña y humilde contribución para que toda esta sociedad siga creciendo. My name is Victor Villarroel, I am 31 years old, I am from Venezuela, Anzoátegui State of a small big city called El Tigre, founded under the effort of many immigrants after the flourishing of the oil boom with the drilling of the first well in Los Llanos in eastern Venezuela, the famous OG-1 well: Office Gulf 1, population characterized by warm people of good heart and where the motto of all is "proud to be Tigrense" place full of greenery where they abound the mango bushes, famous for the colorful and cheerful carnivals black gold and for the biggest painted flag of the world.

Mi nombre es Víctor Villarroel, tengo 31 años de edad, soy de Venezuela, Estado Anzoátegui de una pequeña gran ciudad llamada El Tigre, fundada bajo el esfuerzo de muchos inmigrantes tras el florecimiento del auge petrolero con la perforación del primer pozo en Los Llanos del este venezolano, el célebre pozo OG-1: Oficina Gulf 1, población caracterizada por personas cálidas de buen corazón y donde el lema de todos es “orgulloso de ser tigrense” lugar lleno de verdor donde abundan las matas de mango, famosa por los coloridos y alegres carnavales oro negro y por la bandera pintada más grande del mundo.

Beginning and first years / Inicio y primeros años

My little story begins this way, I was born in a quiet night on March 10, 1988 (doctor's day), in the Gutiérrez Clinic in San José de Guapina, a city next to my beloved El Tigre, being the eldest son of my mother Rosa Angélica and the youngest son of my father Víctor José, the first years of my life were very happy, surrounded by my family and beginning to discover the world around me. The childhood I remember it happy and innocent with some other typical mischiefs of a child with a volatile and somewhat restless imagination, my routine was understood between school in the mornings, games with some friends in the afternoons and animated series of the moment as Dragon Ball, Saint Seiya, Inuyasha among others... discovering this way the taste to the animation and to the art.

Mi pequeña historia empieza así, nací en una tranquila noche el 10 de marzo del año 1988 (día del médico), en la clínica Gutiérrez de San José de Guapina, ciudad aledaña a mi querido El Tigre, siendo el hijo mayor de mi madre Rosa Angélica y menor de mi padre Víctor José, los primero años de mi vida fueron muy felices, rodeado de mi familia y comenzando a descubrir el mundo a mí alrededor. La infancia la recuerdo alegre e inocente con alguna que otras travesuras típicas de un niño con una imaginación volátil y un tanto inquieta, mi rutina se comprendía entre la escuela por las mañanas, juegos con algunos amigos por las tardes y series animadas del momento como Dragon Ball, Saint Seiya, Inuyasha entre otros… descubriendo así el gusto a la animación y al arte.

Adolescent phase / Fase de adolescencia

Adolescence was complicated for me (and actually adolescence is not...). At this stage there was a radical change in my personality, from being a restless and sociable child to a somewhat introverted and extremely reserved child, which made it difficult for me to make stable friendships, having a few friends that I still have today. At that time I lived in high school, my grades were relatively high especially in science and arts, however in social and history never stand out (within my reflection, and I wondered why I should learn names and dates of people? which to me at that time did not seem important to me).

La adolescencia fue para mí complicada (y en realidad que adolescencia no lo es…). En esta etapa hubo un cambio radical en mi personalidad, pase de ser un niño intranquilo y sociable a un chico algo introvertido y extremadamente reservado, lo que trajo como consecuencia que se me hiciera difícil hacer amistades estables, teniendo unos pocos amigos que aún hoy en día conservo. En aquella época vivía en los estudios de secundaria, mis notas eran relativamente elevadas sobre todo en las materias de ciencias y artes, sin embargo en sociales e historia nunca destaque (dentro de mi reflexionaba, y me preguntaba ¿por qué debo aprender nombres y fechas de personas? que para mí en ese tiempo no me parecían importantes).

My hobbies in those days were video games and painting, spending hours and hours playing on PlayStation 1, which at the time was considered the avant-garde console of the moment, I loved playing RPG titles, which told fantasy and suspense stories in such a way that they knew how to let your imagination run wild in their worlds. I also took inspiration from many of those games to make my drawings and experiment with new techniques, extending and further entrenching my love of art.

Mis hobbies en esos tiempos era los videos juegos y la pintura, el pasar horas y horas jugando en la PlayStation 1, que para ese entonces se consideraba la consola vanguardista del momento, me deleitaba jugando títulos de RPG, los cuales contaban historias de fantasía y suspenso de tal forma que sabían adentrarte y hacer volar tu imaginación en sus mundos. Asimismo tomaba inspiración de muchos de esos juegos para realizar mis dibujos y experimentar con nuevas técnicas, extendiendo y afianzando más mi amor al arte.

On weekends, as was my custom, I spent my days in my father's country, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. This closer approach to nature taught me to value more the small pleasures of life, the simplicity, tranquility and inner peace of the individual, as well as the fruits obtained from effort and dedication to one's own work.

Los fines de semana como era costumbre, pasaba los días en el campo de mi padre, alejado del bullicio y el movimiento de la ciudad, ese acercamiento más aproximado a la naturaleza me enseñó a valorar más los pequeños placeres de la vida, la sencillez, tranquilidad y paz interna del individuo, así como los frutos obtenidos del esfuerzo y dedicación al trabajo propio.

Entering adulthood / Entrando a la adultez

Having graduated from high school and with college just around the corner, concentrating on deciding my future vocation became my priority. It was an especially difficult stage, as I had an affinity and interest in careers such as architecture, graphic design or professions related to art, but for reasons beyond my control, were not within my reach. Determined to go to university, multiple options crossed my mind, such as mechanical engineering, telecommunications, systems, petroleum ... all linked to engineering and my final choice being the latter.

Habiéndome graduado de la secundaria y con la universidad ya a la vuelta de la esquina, el concentrarme en decidir mi futura vocación se convirtió en mi prioridad, fue una etapa especialmente difícil, ya que tenía afinidad e interés por carreras como arquitectura, diseño gráfico o profesiones afines al arte, pero que por razones ajenas a mí, no se encontraban al alcance. Decidido a cursar estudios universitarios, cruzaron por mi mente múltiples opciones, como por ejemplo ingeniería mecánica, telecomunicaciones, sistemas, petróleo… todas ligadas a la ingeniería y siendo mi elección final esta última opción.

I got a place in the Experimental University of the Armed Force, the first years would meet a large number of people from different backgrounds and origins from whom I could learn a lot, especially to be more open and establish ties of fraternity, from which they would become my closest friends. We formed an excellent study and work group, supporting each other and overcoming as a unit all the obstacles presented to us. In spite of taking my academic preparation very seriously, I never put aside my true passion, with the passing of the years I evolved my drawing style widely influenced by Japanese culture (animes) to a more conservative style oriented to the realism of portraits. That's how the university developed a lot of my hidden potential, not only as a professional but also as a person and a human being. A complex but not difficult stage, that made me value more and more the importance of living in the moment. Thus overcoming another stage.

Conseguí cupo en la Universidad Experimental de la Fuerza Armada, los primeros años conocería a un gran número de personas de diferentes orígenes y procedencias de quienes pude aprender mucho, sobre todo a ser más abierto y entablar lazos de fraternidad, de los cuales ellos se convertirían en mis amigos mas cercanos. Formamos un excelente grupo de estudio y trabajo, apoyándonos mutuamente y superando como una unidad todos los obstáculos que se nos presentaba. A pesar de tomar muy en serio mi preparación académica nunca deje de lado mi verdadera pasión, con el correr de los años fui evolucionando mi estilo de dibujo ampliamente influenciado por la cultura japonesa (animes) a un estilo más conservador y orientado al realismo de los retratos. Así fue como la universidad desarrolló mucho de mi potencial que se encontraba escondido, no solo como profesional sino también como persona y ser humano. Una etapa compleja más no difícil, que me hicieron valorar cada vez más la importancia de vivir el momento. Superando así otra etapa más.

After graduating as a petroleum engineer, I was hired that same year as a training in a private company (BOHAI Drilling Services), which provides mud logging services (drilling parameters, geological study), thus starting the next chapter of my life. Like any good apprentice, the first years I focused on studying as much as I could of my trade, researching and asking people with much more experience than me, was a hard stage and continuous learning, with constant guards and sleepless nights .... little by little my efforts were paying off, I was receiving promotions and new responsibilities, until I reached a supervisory position.

Tras haberme graduado de ingeniero en petróleo, ese mismo año me contrataron como training en una empresa privada (BOHAI Drilling Services), la cual presta servicios de mud logging (parámetros de perforación, estudio geológico), así dio inicio el siguiente capítulo de mi vida. Como todo buen aprendiz, los primeros años me centre en estudiar lo más que pude de mi oficio, investigando y preguntado a personas con mucha más experiencia que yo, fue una etapa dura y de continuo aprendizaje, con guardias constantes y noches de desvelo…. poco a poco mis esfuerzos fueron dando frutos, fui recibiendo ascensos y nuevas responsabilidades, hasta llegar a un cargo supervisorio.

Thanks to my work I had the opportunity to visit different places in my beloved Venezuela, remote and inhospitable places of great natural beauty and where all of them shared something in common "exuberant sunsets". On my way I met many people from different regions and nationalities, this cultural exchange enriched me as a person and taught me to value other customs, many of those people in that environment became without weighing it in my second family, the long periods of coexistence and sharing made it impossible not to create bonds of brotherhood much more than just a professional treatment.

Gracias a mi trabajo tuve la oportunidad de conocer diversos sitios de mi amada Venezuela, lugares alejados e inhóspitos de grandes bellezas naturales y donde todos ellos compartían algo en común “exuberantes atardeceres”. En mi camino me topé con muchas personas, de diferentes regiones y nacionalidades, este intercambio cultural me enriquecieron como persona y me enseñaron a valorar otras costumbres, muchas de esas personas en ese ambiente se convirtieron sin pesarlo en mi segunda familia, los largos periodos de coexistencia y de compartir hacía imposible no crear lazos de hermandad mucho más que un simplemente trato profesional.

These new friendships noticed and knew how to value my artistic skills, which although I had little time, I never put aside, fortunately I always found the necessary space to develop and perfect the technique (although I consider that I still have much to advance), to those hobby activities were added photography and origami. So it was thanks to all these events that brought me to this precise place, the working environment not only opened the doors for me to professional development, but also allowed me to get to know this platform through co-workers, many of whom recommended me and insisted on seeing all that Steemit had to offer.

Estas nuevas amistades notaron y supieron valorar mis habilidades artísticas, las cuales a pesar que disponía de poco tiempo nunca deje de lado, afortunadamente siempre encontraba el espacio necesario para ir desarrollando y perfeccionando la técnica (aunque considero que todavía me falta mucho por avanzar), a esas actividades de hobby se le sumaron la fotografía y el origami. Así fue gracias a todos estos acontecimientos lo que me trajeron a este preciso lugar, el ambiente laboral no solo me abrió las puertas al desarrollo profesional, sino que también me permitió conocer a través de compañeros de trabajos esta plataforma, muchos de los cuales me recomendaron e insistieron en ver todo lo que ofrecía Steemit.

And although several years have passed, so we arrive today, May 01, 2019 (the day of the worker), at a time in my life when my professional and artistic career still has to continue for many more years.

Y aunque ya han pasado varios años así llegamos al día de hoy, 01 de mayo de 2019 (día del trabajador), en un momento de mi vida en la que mi trayectoria profesional y artística aún debe continuar durante muchos años más.
