Hello Steemians,
I am so happy to introduce you today to Vilma Ahumada: a Colombian Business Analyst, currently living in NYC.

Wow! It’s the first time that I write about me. I am certain that there is no better place to share some of my life with you guys. Instead of talking about my professional career, I would like to focus on one of my passions: Dancing.

Here is me today:

Well, where should I start? Mm, let’s go back to August 4th of 1989, exactly in Bogota, Colombia.
Yes, I was born on Friday. I was a pretty and chubby baby. Certainly, I was very healthy because my father took care so well of my mom with his special recipes. Here, this is me when I was 4 years old.

Basically, my childhood was influenced by my older cousins who were ballet dancers. So, I started to develop dance skills since I was 4 years old. We used to dance in Christmas and Birthdays as a way of market our group, which was called “Jaivana”.
Then, when I was in high school, I took ballet lessons but my physic was not the right one for a svelte ballerina. Besides, I was very upset with the instructors’ teaching methods. I could say they were very strict for my age, considering I was only 10 when I took ballet. After this experience, I decided to keep dancing but different music: “Colombian Folklore”. If you have heard Shakira’s song, Hips don’t lie, you can make yourselves an idea of how it could sound the “Colombian cumbia”.
During high school, my class won a championship of best performance.

Later in college, I also joined the group of Folklore. We trained every day after classes to perform in several public events. I must say it was very fun!

Must say that during college I join also several fitness classes too. I also was in the podium in a fitness competition at my university. Alongside to my career as a business administrator, I have enjoyed a lot of time doing what I love to do. Dancing is the most self-expressing sport/art you can do, it helps me to release stress and center my thoughts. If you haven’t tried it you should, don’t be afraid of express yourself.

The most recent experience in a public stage, was at my Masters University’s Talent show. Together @andreolf, danced a 3 minutes salsa. I was a bit rusty after almost three without being in a stage. Here is a short video of the performance.

I am looking forward to keeping in touch with all of you!

Thanks you for visiting my introduce post. This is my first post and do not forget to always visit @vilmapato blog in the next few days. I am looking forward to your comments and posts.

Happy steeming,
Vilma
