Hi @freetissues. I'm not a crypto expert, but have been dabbling a bit - the information can be overwhelming at times. There is loads of advice on Steem itself. What I can recommend is using ice3x.com if you want to exchange any of your crypto for South African Rand or if you want to buy Bitcoin (which you can then exchange on Poloniex for more steem for example).
Ok, so this ice3x you use to sell your bitcoin for sa rands? I dont have a bitcoin wallet yet and planning on leaving all i earn here right here in steemit for now, building a lil steem bank
That's cool. Its a good idea to build up a bank here in Steem....but ultimately if you ever want to convert Steem to actual cash, then the only way is to trade for bitcoins and then sell bitcoins for Rands on ice3x.com. I needed some urgent cash recently so I had to sell my Steem savings....but it is better if you hang on to them since Steem is likely to increase in value. Good luck with everything on Steem .
