Yep, that's my actual name. It's both Chinese (Cantonese to be exact) and English. In Chinese, it means forever (勇敢). In English, it is whatever you want it to be (like a Bird's Wing, or Left Wing a football position, or the wing of a plane, or maybe WINGS, the latest Ethereum DAO project.)
My Dad is from Hong Kong and my Mum is from Malaysia. They came over to the UK as teens and I was born and raised in London. We speak English at home and outside the home so it's the language I use to think (when I'm not thinking in Java or Python, more on that later).
I've been really surprised and excited by the variety in the community here. Growing up in London, I got used to being in a multi-cultural, multi-racial, multi-religious society and saw this as the norm. Manchester is similar too. But other parts of England are less diverse, and I think they suffer for it.
I'm a Computer Scientist by trade. I was fortunate enough to study at the University of Cambridge for three years and now I'm nearly five years in at a multi-billion startup based in UK.
I'll be writing about entrepreneurship, Drake, computer science, NEO (the blockchain tech I'm currently obsessed by) and life up north in Manchester, UK.
