SOOOO.... My head is spinning and its been a long day. i imagine that i will be editing this post many times but i want to get some kind of introduction down because i am chomping at the bit to get some of my work on here and actually let people read it for a change. i have tried the publish on demand route for my poetry and short prose in the past but found that system so cumbersome and inefficient. i am way past the point where i want to seriously write for a living but i have so many things that i am really interested to let people read. i cant wait to get opinions from a wide variety of people. the problem is, now that i am here, i see so many things that i could get my hands into that i may never get around to writing. lol. a short note on my writing, as some of you may have noticed already, i use punctuation sparingly and only for flow, and capitals even less. mostly for showing respect with personal and proper nouns. i have reasons for this and they will remain my own, but they go hand in hand with point number 2. i realize that people want flashy posts with pictures and movement. colors and noises. i also realize that these types of posts may garner more attention and that i may lose some views and followers for not adding these things. my reasons for this are simple. i do not want a readers emotion or experience affected by anything other than the words i choose to use. use of other stimulus along with the written word is something that writers have only been able to utilize for a very short time. i consider using other things along with the written word to obtain a reaction to be a different art form altogether. what kind of form, of course, depends on the added media.
A few other short notes about me. i make my living running a drywall hanging and finishing business. before that i traveled as an iron-worker for over 17 years. i am also trading crypto-currency and have just started mining a few coins as well. i found this site while doing some research into the steem coin. i will certainly be investing here but now realize i will need to make some decisions on how to divide my coin on this platform since i have chosen to become a denizen. i read voraciously and i am relentless in pursuing information when i become interested in something. i can already tell after spending just a small amount of time here, that a lot of new doors are going to be opened in my little brain.
