RE: Hello everyone, introducing myself! My name is Priscilla Hernandez, I create music, photography and art

I liked the harmonies, thanks for the recommendations. Yes, I was refering to Līgo a goddess of darkness and Mist and there is a traditional Latvian song about it. I made myself a song "In the Mist" and some listeners from your country told me about the traditional song (that does not sound like mine but they told me they thought of their folk song). I checked it and found some versions I loved, but I wouldn´t be able to sing it as I do not know your language.

Haha, yeah, we have some interesting language quirks that are hard to use for others. We celebrate Līgo and Jāņi every year, it is even bigger than Christmas. We make fire in Midsummer, just like they do In Canary Islands by the sea and we stay up all day, make flower-crowns, dance around the fire, make sashlik and go swimming naked :D The day of Līgo is on 23rd of June and then the 24th is a day of Jānis

Thanks for the information, I really love myths, legends and folklore. I was born in La Palma, the greener of the Canary Islands. I loved the song but I´d not dare do a cover because I would mispronounce it, I remember the melody though. I play kantele which is the same instrument than the Latvian "Kokle".

Oh, that is cool! I lived in Cran Canaria for a year. My aunt has been there for almost 20 years. The hot weather was not for me, though :D

It is so cool to meet people who know so much! And kokle is such a historical instrument! I think there is nothing wrong with mispronunciation, it is the effort that counts! :)

I love my gusli, kokle, kantele. So next time you visit the Canary Islands make sure to visit La Palma. And thanks for your lovely welcome once more.
