So you're telling me that I can view the same content across these different platforms? Or is it like, for example, Steepshot has its own content only viewable on Steepshot?

Platform like Steepshot only shows posts that are created using Steepshot since it only focuses on pictures. Same applies for DSound and DTube but Steemit doesn't filter anything so any post that you create using any app will show up in here.
Steem blockchain is just open and public database that all these apps are using, some select to filter the content for the user, some don't but it's all there on the same database.
