Hello Ecency! I'm delighed to have joined this community. Let me start by introducing myself- My name is Gunjita. I've heard great things about this space and my fingers are shivering from excitement as I type this in. I'm a second year undergraduate student pursuing geography honours and hoping to furthermore do a PhD in Environmental studies. My love for nature came up sometime during my extensive travels as a child. Words always fell short, especially when I would see a natural phenomenon as unreal as I did! What could I do? I started expressing myself through- you guessed it- words ;)The interest progressed into paintings, but any artistic expression would lack the soul or not be as successful in invigorating the feeling I had felt before. So? I started writing about feelings:)
In primary school, when asked if I wanted to be a writer - it would be the one answer that came up as naturally as a caterpillar becomes a butterfly. It was euphoric and glorious to imagine having books printed under my name. That euphoria morphed into an existential crisis when exploring options to pursue in college. What was I supposed to choose? I had so many ambitions and no university was willing to endorse them all. Sigh- I chose geography. Nature had always been my first muse!
I started writing during my free time, away from the geographic information that was being poured down my brain( no idea where it went). I participated in an anthology called- 'A Dance with Dusk' earlier this year where five of my poems were published(** my younger self screeched with joy then**) and participated in various other poetry competitions only to lose most of them. What joy!!
All throughout this, I started a blog channel that would feature my travel adventures and book reviews. I started focusing on social entrepreneurship and innovation. Research was the road I had chosen to travel, so I veered my career car right on it. Poetry felt like a thing of the past, and I went back to pouring academic information down my veins when suddenly I received news of my poem getting through to top 7 at DTU times! Cue the monkey screeching:)

My other hobbies include spending lots of time in nature, taking long walks without a destination or going on treks in my free time! I love walking with my dog and I truly believe there's a country side soul deep inside of me, because I constantly look for opportunities to venture out of the city:) I'm a bit of an erratic traveller as well!
So hello my lovely community, I am a women of many words- ambitious but anxious, perfectionist but carefree, realist yet hopeful, and even a sensitive romantic. I however, realised that I identify as a novice of life- constantly learning, unlearning and relearning. This journey of life makes us crazy, but isn't that why we're all existing- for the unknown?
